So I got that new Stainless Charter in .44 special the other day. You can't have a new gun without ammo,or it will screw up the Cosmos, or mess up your Fung Shoei, or something bad. Found out real quick that the Special, stands for Damned Expensive, in regards to ammo! Cheapest I could find was $32.00 for Cowboy Loads at Ass Pro. 44 mag was $10 bucks cheaper for jhp's. I can't wait to tell my wife I'm going to have to buy another set of dies so I can save a lot of money. :D Anybody got any brass they want to swap out?

i don't have any extra brass, but i agree with you about time to start reloading. you can only shoot the .22's for so long, before you got to feel the big bang from the .40 and .45's.:D

Sounds like another reason to buy another pistol in 44 mag and use the dies for both.

I think I've got 50-100 44 sp cases laying around some where.. drop me a pm if your willing to deal with small quantities. I wouldn't mind sticking to just 44mag cases..

FYI...it is very easy to convert .44 magnum cases to .44 special. There is only 0.125" to remove (1.285" trimmed down to 1.160"). Using a lee case trimmer or a fancy Lyman trimmer you just size it as if it where .44 special.
