Does Optics planet ever have anything in stock?

They usually send an email saying one or two things I ordered "just ran out":rolleyes:

This morning I get that same email telling me that all four of the items ordered last night are out of stock.

I think I'm going to have to find a new company to order from!

If your doing scopes go with SWFA. I habe had no issues with them in 4 purchases over the years and good prices.

Weird. I've only placed one order through Optics Planet and I got a "your item has been shipped" message on the same day I placed the order. Maybe I just got lucky.

I ordered a blackhawk bag from them a couple of months ago. It took them forever to process my order. When I emailed them about it, they said it was going to be shipped directly from blackhawk, which I thought was weird. I ended up getting it three weeks later, and that's a little too long even for standard shipping in my book. Their order tracking is pretty much non-functional as well. So my main complaint: sloooooowwwwww. Don't order something from them if you need it within a month.

This is getting to be pretty standard for internet businesses now. They hold no inventory, they just take your order and turn around and order it drop shipped from the manufacturer. Meanwhile they have your money but never paid for any merchandise, shipping, storage or in most cases labor to track/pack/ship.

Very lucrative for them, PITA for you.

Unless the savings are huge, order direct from the suppliers/manufacturers. In some cases even though they are selling it at their retail price point, the shipping charges might be less and of course the time is generally much quicker.

There ARE some notable exceptions, though.

I'm a big CheaperThanDirt.com fan.

Their inventory tells you right away if it's in stock. Matter of fact, if it's not, you can't even "back order" it if you want to.

In about 10 orders from them over time, I've never been disappointed.

I sent them an email last night about my order status,and received this in return.

We are still holding on these items. They should be arriving in two weeks

from today, and that is what they keep telling us, as we are starting to get

a few orders on hold for this exact item. I have bumped you to the top of

I like OP's prices,but what good does a cheap product do if you cant use it!
