Which Samsung Tablet ?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Turns out I am on credit card points awards program (never paid myuc attention to it) and can get stuff .

I am looking at a Samsung tablet.

Usage will be routine alternate to my netbook equipped with MS Office ware. I do have a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim phone (Android 2.3 Gingerbread) that I am happy with.

between these two choices (the ones offered by the program)- Which is better choice?

- Samsung® Galaxy Tab™ 2 WiFi® 10.1-Inch

or

- Samsung® Galaxy Noteâ„¢ 10" 32GB WiFi Tablet Kit  ?

Both are the same price in "points"

Thanks,

Bert

Assuming that they are both the same in storage capacity.  The Note has better specs on Amazon otherwise I can't tell the difference.

So, my my choice is...iPad;-)  That's what I would normally want but between these choices it looks like I would go with the Note.

Hopefully the Android folks can give you some more insight.

Edit:  The Tab looks to come with Android 4.1 while the Note only has 4.0.  I would find out if the Note is able to upgrade to 4.1.  I know that some devices can't upgrade to the newest OS.

Looks like the Samsung Note 10.1 will upgrade to 4.1

The note is fantastic if you do any type of note taking, actually any type of drawing or writing.  The stylus makes the tablet a stand out from everything else on the market.  The hand writing recognition is fantastic.  Between the 2 the note is a no brainer.  The only negative on it is the 1280x800 resolution which is due to the fact that it uses a wacom digitizer.

I know it ain't among the options, but saw a real handsome samsung windows 8 pad that is the same size as the android pads. I have an android phone and tablet but the OS is extremely crude compared to a real operating system. And yes, I'd rather have the windows 8 pad than an iPad too. IOS is at least as primitive an OS as is Android.

Coming from someone in the cellular industry, I would highly recommend the Note over the galaxy tab. The note will be a much more user friendly device that will be kept up to date more so than the entry level tab 2. Pm me if you have any detailed questions or want more advice. I've been in the industry for 8 years and may be able to answer any ?'s or concerns...

Thanks for input from all.

Of the two choices available, I have selected (and "ordered") the 32 GB WiFi Note.

It was either a tablet or a fish-finder. No tires, gas cards, or rice & beans, guns & ammo were available.

Thanks for helping me decide!
