My grandmother is Mary Wilcher, 5th Great Grandfather is Larkin Wilcher and was a Captain in the Revulotion out of North Carolina and ended up serving under Colonel Granbderry Lee in Georgia, where he won a Land Lottery. His son was the first Senator from Glascock County and they owned the first (and only) Bank in Glascock up until the end of the Civil War. We have Senators, Judges, Bankers, Land Owners, Slave Traders etc. throughout our family history. The last Judge in our family retired in 1978 in Georgia. But there was one family line our entire family often wondered about Larkins nephew Warren. At the family reunions Genealogy always comes up (Bunch of girls, including my daughter in the DAR), and wondered what happened to Warren Wilchers line, because we know he was married. Took me a long time but I finally found out. Ole Warren ended that line with a single pistol shot before it ever got started. They didnt ave any kids. It would seem that Warren started his criminal career in 1866 right after the Civil War (He fought) and made a name for himself in Georgia. He wasnt a thief, just a plain ole run of the mill cold blooded killer. On his 6th and final killing he ended his line. Aparently his wife (In 1872) really pizzed him off by turning him in for killing a neighbor. So he broke out of jail and did this. So we can add a title to the family tree that has something in common with Jesse James, Billy the Kid, and other criminals up to the 1930's..."Notorious Outlaw".

Now the only question is, which gun did he use? I want to add one to my collection.

Oh and they did catch him, and he did get the rope. I'm sure he made the family proud. lol
