Sig P224 Interest

Based on Specs the Sig P224 might be my re-entry into 9mm ownership. Would like to wrap my hand around one first. Anyone in the Middle Tenn. area with said Firearm or anyone noticed one at a shop? Any negative experience/feedback?

If I am not mistaken, the 224 only comes in 40sw or 357sig. I don't think it comes in 9mm

Not sure where to find one but it is available in 9mm

SIG SAUER introduces the P224, the first true subcompact in its classic all-metal firearms line. Ideal for concealed or off-duty carry, the P224 offers all of the features consumers expect, with one small change.

Based on the P229®, one of the most prolific sidearms in federal law enforcement, the P224 takes the
same hammer-fire reliability and lightweight all-metal frame and puts them in a subcompact package with
all of the familiar SIG SAUER controls and functions.

Despite its small size, the P224 maintains a double-stack magazine for a capacity of 11 rounds of 9mm
and 10 rounds of .40S&W or .357SIG giving the P224 a decided advantage over most subcompact
competitors. Newer model P229 magazines can also be used for an even greater round count.

I know GT Distributors in Chattanooga has a display model. I haven't asked to hold it though, I have no interest in it. Too fat for an effective subcompact IMHO. Also pricy, I don't mind paying a lot for an effective service duty weapon though.

Thanks for the info. I read that as well and thought that Gun will have appeal for several 229 owners.

Hence to reason I gotta put one in my hand. Might work, might not. Not really a direct competitor to the Kahr PM/CM.

And not being overly popular, probably can't find a "deal" on one.

Looks like it would be like a Glock 26 compared to the 19.

Yes, I see the similarity. And I bet that G26 is way more popular................................and cheaper(less expensive).

Truthfully more the weight, feel and thickness of a heavy loaded Glock 29.

I don't know of anyone who has bought one or had the chance to buy one. I know the one at GT's was a sample months ago. Edited by Patton
