My smartphone doesn't understand me

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded to a smartphone. I chose the Samsung Galaxy s3. It is loaded with awesome features, one of which is Voice typing. The problem I have is it does not understand my southern accent very well. The other day I was sending a message that contain the words"blah blah blah". The phone wrote "obama".

Dude my note 2 doesn't understand a word on voice text. Not to mention I still use a lot of backwoods slang that doesn't come through when I type so it has major issues with my speech and grammar when I try voice text.

my speech is atrocious...people cant always understand me so how could I expect my iphone 5 to?  Ive found that if I say the words, instead of trying to speak normally, then it works fine.  Probbaly not the best abnswer but it works for me.  I use it for texting al the time

On my HTC I found you can slow down the speed of recognition, works a lot better. (Wonder if it would work for mountain man)

I work on the phone a lot at my job and was told that I have a work voice and an outside of work voice. One is redneckanese.

I don't have to do much for my iPhone to laugh at me. It's kinda like my wife: smarter than me.

Smartphones Huh?

I'll stick with my dumbphone LOL.

I like it cause I can punch some numbers, a person answers on the other end, and we talk. Can smartphones do that?

Ha ha ha. I've always had this problem. Nothing ever understands me. My boss is red as heck too it was downright hilarious watching him try to talk to his iphone.

Don't know. I hate talking to people. So a smartphone is a blessing for me. I'd rather play games and surf the 'net than talk.
