You should probably inform the nice lady from the NW that got on the stand and gave glowing reports of how great GZ was, explained that she would NEVER tell a member not to carry their legal firearm, it's a constitutional right, offered GZ a HIGHER position in the organization complete with uniform car and flashing lights, said that what was described to her sounded like "suspicious" behavior and she too would have called on TM, and that GZ did nothing wrong at all by trying to keep TM in sight, especially since Dispatch was asking him to do that with the repeated statements of "tell me if he does anything else" and "which way did he go" even after GZ said TM was running and couldn't be seen anymore.

She seems to be of the belief that GZ was in fact a real member, and real captian, and doing a damn fine job.

Nice bout of CYOA going on there if you ask me, see above.

Thanks. I previously reported having seen a bit of that testimony, but didn't recall the content past seeing a few minutes of it. Will see if I can find a link. If you have a link it would be nice. I provided links on the NW manual and the NW assoc statement. :)

So has NW Assoc reversed their statement about Z, saying that's exactly what they want in a NW member? Has Sanford changed their manual, saying sure, take any risk you want in reporting a crime?

I want to take a moment to offer a public apology to anyone I may have offended during discussions regarding this case. I strongly believe what I believe, and I allowed my frustrations to get the better of me in a few of my posts. While some of my comments clearly came across as personal attacks, that was never my intention. If you are one of those I have offended, I sincerely apologize.

We are all big boys in here, if you can't have a heated discussion then you probably should have never gotten involved in the discussion in the first place. People need to grow thick skins..

I didn't see that. These threads moved pretty fast, and a lot of the comments were terse. If you piss me off, you'll know it in my response. I hope everybody on here is the same way. I'll admit, I'm still pissed at the guy that called me a Commie :) (just kidding... really).

Everybody can occasionally get too attached to defending their beliefs, overzealous, even big boys.

OTOH, there is also a posted forum code of conduct--

Scroll down to where it says

Wendy Dorival, Sanford Police Department, Neighborhood Watch Program

You can actually re-watch the testimony there at this point, or at least you could the last time I actually hit play, its been a few days, but the videos still seem to be intact.

Thanks much, Charis. Will look at that testimony later today.

Enjoy! I think it was my favorite part of the trial, along with the 911 Dispatch clearly stating he could not give orders of any kind. Also pretty much the point in time I knew for sure that this trial was a complete farce.

If you can't even get this woman, who basically works for the cops AND the neighborhood watch, on your side, after the statement from police, the change of policy, and everyone and their brother screaming about how GZ broke the rules for doing anything but breathing.... you don't really have a case, cause if you did,  you DON'T put on the Not White NW Lady that tells you how fantabulous GZ is and how she pursued him for a higher position... you know... the exact opposite of what you do with a racist nut-job vigilante cop wanna be that is going to snap any second and murder some poor innocent "child".

Now if and when the DOJ decides to attempt to crucify GZ are we going to stand shoulder to shoulder and denounce it or go at each other again?

Holder knows there is nothing to charge Zimmerman with, especially since his own investigation revealed that.

I wonder what kind of charges some racist group can come up with, since the DOJ doesn't seem to know of any?

He's giving lip service to the NAACP. We should be the ones starting a riot if Holder doesn't go back and prosecute

the New Black Panther Party for their crap during 2008, but I'm sure that won't happen.

If we did a unified riot, then we would be considered a bunch of racist creepy a.. crackers by the civil and tolerant Libtards.

You know, this case has really sent me to thinking about the wider world at large... and your comment brings some of those thoughts to the forefront to be examined....

Unfortunately we do riot in our own way. We just choose to do so in such a stupid way that those of us that stayed home just shake our head and walk away disgusted.

The Occupy movement was mostly white, if you go by the pictures anyway, I admit to never going to one myself. Lets take a look at that for a second.

A bunch of white people got dressed in their name brand clothes and their name brand shoes, gathered up their iProducts and Microsoft laptops, hopped into their gas guzzling and also name brand cars and headed to wherever they were Occupying.

On the way they stopped at Starbucks for a sub-par coffee filled with artificial flavors and sweeteners, and of course they went though a chain restaurant drive through to grab a bite of some of the most processed and unhealthy food imaginable.

Once they arrived they dropped their non-biodegradable garbage wherever it happened to fall from their hands, and proceeded to chant about the evils of the big industries they are wearing, drinking eating and texting each others on, the top 1% not paying enough taxes while refusing to acknowledge that almost half of this country pays no taxes at all, occasionally just for something else to say how big business is destroying the economy and ecosystem by killing the local mom and pop store, and how they as the 99% were all sweetness and purity and light... while rapes, robberies, assaults, public urination and deification, disease, rat infestation, and absolute destruction of property and their immediate environment  closed down small mom and pop businesses anywhere near their vicinity.

This, unfortunately, is what happens when white people "riot" these days.

Those of us that are a little more enlightened about how the world works tend to hole up in our houses and bitch on the internet, myself included, because we have decided it is not worth the stress and aggravation to stand up for anyone but ourselves. Sure, we will send a few bucks here and there, or cheer on from our chairs those that are finally stepping up to the plate, but then we go back to our echo chambers full of people who agree with us, and settle again into our comfortable unhappiness.

Even we, who are here on this board, are part of the problems we are complaining about, and again, I include myself in that and I do not mean it as an insult at all, just as a statement of fact. What exactly are we DOING to solve the problems we are so upset about? Who among us went to Florida to stand up for GZ and his rights as a gun owner and an American? I know I didn't, it did not even occur to me to do so, it never once came across my mind to even CONSIDER the idea, much less get to the point to of making any kind of decision about it.

So, I am forced to wonder, who is the real problem in this situation... them for taking advantage.... or us for letting them? I have read several times how if the founding fathers could see the country today, they would be angry that THOSE people have brought us to this.... but would they not be equally, or even more angry at us, who see the wrong, for doing nothing about it but whining in our bedchambers?

^^^^^^For many of us, it's easier to complain than to take some type of "real" action. Great post

You know if they would use all effort to conduct a witch hunt on GZ, all the crime in Chicago would cease to exists. But when you live in a society where idiots that use microphones push the "Stop Snitching" mantra, instead of telling people that they need to speak up and rid the community of criminals, then wee get what we are seeing now. DOJ needs to get off their butts and do some real work..

Charis, your post is full of win, but let mr negativity have at it for a minute! (just joking)

If a bunch more GZ supporters were standing outside the courtroom, what exactly would it accomplish? Kinda like a very boring sports event, where lots of fans are standing around for days on end waiting for a play to be completed? Rooting for their side? People were wondering at the pointlessness of TM supporters standing around outside when their mob should NOT have any effect on the proceedings inside the courtroom. So how is it somehow less pointless to stack on more GZ supporters standing out there when ideally they wouldn't have any effect on the proceedings either?

Or maybe the purpose of a bunch of GZ supporters standing out in florida heat, is to attract the attention of some simpering politician who might be induced to make some useless public proclamation about GZ's right to something or the other? Maybe if enough people are standing out in the sun, a politician might even send out a fund-raising letter with GZ's name, hoping to get more money than usual from the easily-agitated and easily-manipulated sheep? Jump on the bandwagon son, while there's money to be made. We've about tapped em out on sending us money for doing absolutely nothing about immigration or abortion or whatever. Maybe we can fool em on some other issue and get a few more bucks out of em.

I still can't figure out that there are "sides" here, especially since no one will ever know exactly how this confrontation started or who started it. Makes it difficult to root for one side or the other. The only "side" that should be rooted for was a fair trial. Zimmerman got it, and he was found not guilty. Regardless of my opinion on Zimmerman, the maximum amount of justice that could be served has been served and he is a free man.

As I don't understand the Trayvon protesters, as for all they know he was a thug who attacked Zimmerman, I would be puzzled by Zimmerman protesters as for all they knew he accosted the kid and started the whole thing. I just don't get it. A this point the only valid protesting would be against Holder if he tries to come after Zimmerman, or Corey's corruption regarding the suppression of evidence and illegal firing of the IT specialist.

Yep, there's that too. Maybe a rally against Holder in front of the justice dept, or a rally against Corey would have some kind of political effect. Maybe if the pressure was extreme enough, Obama would be forced to replace Holder with Van Jones. :) Other than that, if house and senate subcommittees can't scare holder, I doubt if a bunch of ordinary citizens standing out in the sun and mosquitos would do much.

Probably not, especially since they look at us as lowly plebs anyhow.

Not to drift off topic (as if that would matter at this point) but there were interesting numbers on The Drudge today which listed viewership for the various shows on cable news.  Fox News swept the ratings in the first four or five top spots, with The O'Reily Factor topping the list with nearly 3 times the viewers as it's closest liberal competition, Pierce Morgan.  It tells me something about where America's heads are at.

We might be bombarded by liberal media over the airwaves and print, but folks still flock in greater numbers to get their information from a non-liberal news source (one that is also demonized by all those other outlets).  I think that most intelligent Americans can see this for what it is right now, desipte the tireless efforts of the rabid left.  It tells me no matter how hard they push, they won't win the hearts and minds of America's soul.  Let them push, and let us remain silent.  It will hasten them stepping on their crank more and being forced out the exit.... IMO.
