Pietta Brass Frame .44

I bought an 1860 Army replica with the brass frame about a month ago, and I was finally able to go out and shoot it a little.  I got to put a dozen rounds through it, and I was really pleased, it fired every time I pulled the trigger. I was able to do a 3-4 inch group at 15 yards freehand. And once I was using a full load it was punching the balls straight through a 2x8 pine board.

I shot it using Pyrodex fffg substitute, wonder wads, and factory .454 balls.

Cleaning wasn't hard either. I just broke it down, sprayed, wiped, and reassembled.

Pretty good for a $260(including tax) gun at Sportsmans WH.

They are fine revolvers. You can alos buy a conversion cylinder for it if you want.

If you do you will need to shoot cowboy loads in it.

I took the grips off and washed it with a water hose. Then poured boil water over it followed by a good soaking of WD-40.

No 2 week after rust of any kind.
