I guess I'm just too picky, but a Japanese Winchester just doesn't seem right to me.

 

I also don't understand why 44-40 wouldn't be the first chambering released.

 

Some turn their nose up at a Nippon Browning, too.  I guess that's what we get for winning the war.

The fit and finish of the Miroku Winchesters is excellent plus in my opinion. Traditionalists may not care for the push button safety or the "War & Peace" printing on the barrel. I can understand that.

I got over my bias and got the handy octagonal barrel Model 1892 16" Takedown in .45 Long Colt. The bluing is deep, the stock has nice Tiger stripes, the fitment is tight and the action is slick. Inherent accuracy is very good for a lever action.

If one can get past the sticker shock you will wind up with a longterm keeper.
