Seriously, go vote.

But Disarm....Here's a pic outside my polling station, which happens to be a public elementary school.

Of course thankfully not all polling places are in shools or posted......

I see the sign has "T.C.A. 39-17-1359" but no other real wording from that statute. Of course since it was at a school no real need to post to prohibit weapons anyway...

I had already disarmed....in the street before I got onto school property of course, and was walking in, "click". Thought it was great sign!

I'd be voting today if I'd gotten myself registered in time. In fact, I made the effort, went and mailed off my registration form before the deadline, and USPS returned the thing saying the address was invalid!

I early voted. Didn't have to disarm. I vote at the Sullivan County Courthouse. No signs - the way the gods intended.

I'm eagerly awaiting the outcome hoping that our idiot one-term US Rep will get replaced.

NRA endorsed the turd. He had an "A" rating, but so did his primary (Republican) opponent. Sometimes, the NRA is a bunch of dip-heads.

Johnson City Mayor Phil Roe appeared on "Thinking Out Loud" on WJCW AM 910 18 January. During the interview he was asked about this legislation. He stated That he "strongly agreed" with the opponents of this legislation. He went on to say that "alchohol and lead don't mix".

Well, he's running for US Rep, not state.

So it's better he'd infect the U.S. Congress with this type of thinking?

A lot better than having Davis in the US House for another 2 years. He was one of the very, very, few members of either the House or Senate to vote against greater penalties for dog fighters bring the canines across state lines. The man is an embarrassment to the district. He's run a campaign attempting to deceive the public about himself and his opponent using huge amounts of PAC funds, that Roe refused to accept. Just nothing right about the guy. I suspect (hope) that the public isn't as stupid as his handlers think they are. We'll see in a couple of hours.

I don't know of any legislators I totally agree with. Do you? You really, really, think Davis is the better candidate?

I think it's time to start someone on the seniority tour who has a chance of becoming a leader in the House. We've already wasted two years.

I did my part yesterday and voted. I had to wake up the poll workers. I went at 4pm. My mother-in-law's sister works my polling place. She said that they had only had 45 people come thru. That's sorry!

Shelby County had a 16% voter turnout. No wonder we get the caliber of elected officials we do.

I confirmed the number.

We had a pretty good turnout because of the House race. Davis, the incumbent, is pretty weird and only got in two years ago because two stronger candidates split the non-nutso vote. He took all sorts of PAC money and outspent Roe about 4:1. I'd say his negative and rather obviously misleading attack adds hurt him by at least the 251 vote shift needed to get reelected. The margin was exactly 500 votes. He got what he deserved.

As has been mentioned above, Roe is no angel but both of them get A ratings from NRA. Over here, this was really the election for the seat. Some Democrat is running, but it's just token opposition.

On to November! Hope I like the outcome on that one....
