I guarantee, if you use a 1911 for a bottle opener, you wont be ABLE to shoot it after awhile.

Some of you old folks can remember when you had to have a church key or bottle opener to drink beer or soda.

As my Brotheren J. Moses was a tea-totalling Mormon, I suppose the bottle openers were not of his intended design. But USGI's can make due with what they have. However it was intended to be fully dismantled with the parts at hand. There is a Screwdriver and a Wrench contained within the parts to aid in disassembling. These were of his designs.

I remember those. And some imported bottled beers don't have twist off caps. (Any sharp edge will do - hold cap on edge, strike firmly in a downward motion with the free hand against the cap. If the glass breaks when the cap comes off, consume with care.)
