I bet you the school adds a rule to disallow his shirt next year, but does NOTHING to keep teachers who are idiots from causing trouble.

Thanks for posting this Sam.  I saw it myself this pm on fox (...i think...).  A careful reading of the story indicates that the county judge and prosecutor "agreed to drop these charges" .  I say "baloney"... Some real political operative told the prosecuting attorney (...obviously and idiot...); "...This is West Virginia, man.  People have guns here.   Are you tryin to get us all thrown out of office?  This aint New York City, and you aint Bloomberg....".

By the way, Logan County, WV is the site of the infamous Battle of Blair Mountain.  The term "redneck" originated here at this "battle".  Union organizers and battle participants were identified by red bandanas (...hence the term "redneck"...).  Check the Blair Mountain thing out; you will be surprized.  Logan county was also the jurisdiction of the infamous Sheriff Don Chafin ...check here:

By the way; the Wikipeddia article referenced above is pretty much pure bunk and lies; it does get the tale straight about the "wars" and "shooting".  The details are bad.  The real truth can be found in the newspaper accounts in an obscure book titled: "Bloodletting in Applalachia.  The West Virginia Mine Wars" by Howard B Lee.  The Wikipedia article is no more truthful than the UMW website account of the matewan massacre.

If that aint enough, the next county over is Mingo County, the site of the Matewan Massacre.

It looked like right before the charges were dropped they knew they really effed up cause they contacted the father and tried to say they would drop the charges as a favor to everyone as long as the kid and his family would sign agreements not to talk to the media about it.

The father was on tv and he said something like "don't you think it's funny they are offering this? Well, they are wrong and my son did nothing illegal or bad, so we're not signing anything and we're going to fight". 24 hours later, this happened and now they are going with a civil suit against the school.

Good fir this kid, and I'm glad his dad has a sharp head on him.
