Contender shooters help please

I just acquired a super 14 barrel for my G2 contender and I cannot get the hinge pin to go in well. I could probably tap it in with hammer but I'm afraid I would not be able to get it back out. The two other barrels I have had on it fit fine. I'm fairly new to the contender platform so I was insure how tight these pins are suppose to fit, or if there was something I could do like buffing the inside of the barrel lug where the pin goes.

Mine have good fit but not tight. Make sure you have it lined up correctly.  The pin is inserted while the pistol in uncocked or un locked position. I would not force it. The pins come under sized from the factory. See if the pin will fit trough both holes unassembled.

Remember that TC does make a Pistol called the Encore that uses similar barrels

You can always call TC for advice.

Thanks for the info. It is definitely a contender barrel. The pin will fit fine with the other barrels. However, with the super 14 barrel it will go about half way easily, but gets tight in the middle (this is not even attached to the frame). Also, I don't see any obvious burrs or marks that might get hung up.

See if it will go through the frame. You might tap it lightly just through the barrel. I would call Thompson Center if needed. These pistol come with a lifetime warranty.

I spoke to my Bud, he stated he had one that was tight. He had to tap it in with a soft hammer and use a punch to tap it out. He stated though it didn't require that much force.
