identifying TGO members at tournaments

Just passing on an idea that my son (itchytriggerfinger) came up with...monograming our TGO names on our shooting vests to identify who's who at the range. While many know each other by face recognition or Mike, Jon, etc... they might not necessarily put your name at the range with your threads on TGO. This makes it easier and a good gun topic starter while waiting for 'your turn' to the shooting line :pleased:

Chris at Custom Stitch in Mt Juliet (615-773-7050) did ours...$10 - $12, depending on how long your name is, and that included a first name on the front pocket.

Can't miss me I'm too big!   I'm not that wild about the large font but I think a TGO patch would be a good idea, unless you shoot that game that don't have vests!

I try to mention TGO in my shooters meetings. And if I remember our handles.
It is the best place to see what is going on at the local clubs.

I've thought about that too. But then I can't hide behind a screen name when I have a horrible match like I did last time.

LOL, you just shot the wrong gun.  Glad to see you got rid of that Glock. :)

I'm going to get my vest done soon.

A patch would be good. A small one that could be "velcroed" to a hat or put on a vest. That way if you shoot some match that does not require a vest you can put it on your hat or anywhere you have a place to put a velcro patch.

Probably be a good idea to check with David before using TGO logos.

Well, he only has decals, I wish he had patches, I'd buy one. That's why I used a generic TGO. I would think he'd like us to advertise for his site the same as when we put his TGO stickers on our vehicles.

Or one could use screen names that are linked to real life

The Internet isn't anonymous unless you expend extraordinary efforts, and that only keeps the amateurs at bay.

I like the patch idea, as I don't wear a vest...I just use my EDC wear...

Is there a possibility of TGO producing a run of patches? Not necessarily with the bullet hole logo...nothing wrong with that...but maybe a patch with just "TGO" on it?

Spiffy told me I missed the last TGO Intro at ORSA. Maybe we can have another at the July Match.

Wasn't an official intro.....Ricky just walked up and asked Whose Spiffy? to the group of us there. I only panicked for a second before everyone started pointing at me!

A pin would work good too.  Kinda like a Masonic Ring.......your eye catches it when  you see it on someone else. And it would be usable for SASS or any sport with a hat or vest.

Good idea Spiffy. You can put a pin on a vest, a hat, a shirt or cowboy clothes too. The pin might be the way to go on this.....

I've looked at patches in the past and have not given up on them.  Like most things, it all boils down to time and money.  I'm really short on time lately.  Money is an issue we can work around.  I'll send out a few emails to some patch makers over the weekend and see what sort of replies I get back.

Joe @ Battle Mug told me about a guy he uses to make PVC patches and gave me a few samples.  I really like them a lot and that's probably the route I'd go.  Likely the same "TGO Icon" that we use for our stickers, like is in my avatar.

Thank you for the consideration David.

I will gladly commit to a couple of patches as well.

But I also hope you will consider Spiffy's idea of a pin. As Randy mentioned, the versatility of a pin would be very useful.

While I don't shoot matches, I'd be happy to have a patch. I wear one of my hats with pvc dang near everywhere

You could even wear a pin with a suit at things like an NRA banquet or other function where you might not be wearing a hat or a vest.....just a thought.....
