Wife misses my truck

Well at least with the new Raptor you'll get stock HID headlights.  :)

Go for the new Terrain color... that's bad ass!  :D

She wants the Red, the Ruby Red Special edition coming out in 2014, and yes with the Hid's, Bead locks Nav screen it will be very nice,

If we get it I will have to add the Roush exhaust and Midperch adjustment but other than that it will be left completely stock

( David) if asking someone what they do is rude, i guess there are a lot of rude people on this forum.

I know not to ask what anyone makes( none of my business or anyone else's).

Seriously though, I have been looking into a new truck soon and I do agree with Mike .357. I love the raptor but it's gas mileage sucks. But no offense to anyone who has one. My durango isn't a fuel sipper either.

Willis, If i offended you in any way, I apologize. No offense meant.

Both your rides are sweet. I would love to have either, or be given the chance to at least ride in either one day.

You did not offend me at all, so no apology needed!

Well, i priced both a raptor and the fx4 with what options i would want and do you know the fx4 was more than the raptor. Even with the ecoboost v6. If only the raptor came with a 6.5 ft bed.

Willis, the ruby red looks awesome. Even though I'm partial to the blue, I like the red, it stands out since i mainly see black, silver or blue raptors lately.

I just need to win the lotto. lol

Seriously, willis when you get it, post some pics.

We average about 13.9 MPG around town and about 13.5 MPG on the highway.  Sometimes it creeps up toward 15 MPG but not very often.  That's with a light foot.  Towing with it I saw about 13 MPG.  It's never gone below that unless I was just behaving like a hoon.

Yes, we've had ours off road but they aren't ideal for the sort of off-road environments we have around this part of the country. They need wide open spaces to stretch their legs and really show you what the suspension can do.

It wasn't fun pressure washing this crap out of the undercarriage.

David,

You get better mileage than mine did but I had a hard wired Valentine One in my and therefore my foot was not very light, that may explain it!

Yeah we've got that same hardwire kit running a Passport in ours.  It does pretty good.  It even confirmed when the Mrs. got hit with the LADAR by Metro when she was doing 9 over.  Still can't believe the guy wrote a ticket for that.  I guess there weren't any stabbings, rapings, shootings, drug deals, thefts, home invasions, assaults, politicians casting votes, or murders and it was a slow day for them in Nashville.  :D

heck what is more amazing is the David still owns that truck.  You weren't kidding when you said you were keeping it.  ;)

I honestly expected you to sell or trade it within two years.  Good on you Tungsten.

I don't think i would want to take anything that nice off-road. My durango has been off-road a few times but that back when I first got mine. ( expensive to repair if you make a off-roaders mistake). Since mine's a daily driver until i can get something better, it stays on the pavement or gravel. My off-road toy is my 2008 outlander 650 max. ( trust me, your trucks won't make it where I go). We definately need to get the TGO ride up and planned soon.

if we plan an off road ride I am in. But I will be hauling my Scrambler 500 4X4 in the bed of my 2013 STX. Then I will hit the mud.

You'd be surprised who would take a nice ride out and beat the living snot out of it, to them it's just a truck and that's what it was made for.

For the off-road terrain we have around here, I would think these would border on the line of sucking.  I have not had an offroad toy for a few years, but from my experience, these trucks would be too big with a poor tire size/lift/wheel base ratio.

Although I have no use for these trucks, I am by no means knocking them.  I doubt anyone buys one for their "offroad prowess" or gas mileage; however, if you like it and enjoy it, I see no need for further justification.

We decided to wait until the new 2015 F150's come out. The Atlas design looks awesome to me and they may have a new SVT truck coming out, so since I already owned one of this generation we will keep her SUV then buy one of the next generation ones

I saw some spy pics of the 2015.  I dunno what it looks like from them pics.

I am pretty happy with what Ford is doing now.  I love my 2013.

I have read that aluminum boxed frames are the wave of the future/  Never buy a vehicle in the first three years they rework it.  Years four and five are the sweet spots.
