Ya'll are making me hungry, this chow hall food just isn't cutting it!

so what did you have? be more specific that chow hall food. And look at the bright side, I am guessing you food was free of charge, ( sort of)

Nothing is free if you have to risk getting shot at or blown up to get it... :D

From what I remember of mess hall food, it wasn't that it was that bad, just that it wasn't really that good... a likely result of so much having to be cooked so fast, and strictly "by the book".

Oh, and tonight's menu was fresh pinto beans, cooked with pepperoni, green peppers, and onions, baked potatoes, and baked turkey breast.

I was too lazy to bother with either biscuits or cornbread, since neither the wife or kid are big bread eaters.

Kimberchick and I (mostly her, though) threw some steaks and potatoes on the grill last night . . . leftovers have become breakfast this morning. And yes, they are awesome.

Boneless chicken breasts on the grill - half of them marinated in Dale's Seasoning, the rest marinated in teriyaki. I like choices. Southern style green beans and sliced red skin potatoes brushed with olive oil and baked to perfection. Fresh fruit for dessert. I'm watching my girlish figure.

Well I usually eat supper after my daily dose of TGO so I hadn't eaten when I posted yesterday. After posting I had baked chicken (very fatty and without much flavor) some grilled eggplant that I couldn't even eat and a ton of rice that I didn't even want, the server just dumped it on my plate.

Actually the supper last night was worse then usual. Overall the food isn't that bad, it's just not that good either. I would compare it to hospital food. The bright side is, I'm not eating MRE's.

With 4 kids and different activities, sometimes, we have to do what we can to get a meal done so we can leave, fast food is too expensive, and not that great for you so, We had this:

They make several varieties but this is our favorite. Sam's sells it in a double bag so you get twice the servings. I had grilled a bunch of boneless skinless chicken breast Sunday and had some left over, we cut those and added them to this. You can feed more that way and it's more chicken....which is good.

It is actually quite surprisingly good.

One half of a "Fat Moe's" 27oz loaded cheeseburger, spicy fries and a large sweet tea.

The other half is for tomorrow at work. Too much for one meal!

Weakling....

Well, if my GF says, "What do you want for supper?" and then advises on some things she wants to cook, and I have to GOOGLE them to find out what they are... I'll take a McChicken, no lettuce, and Fries...

I made the mistake a few years ago when I took the wife to a Korean place on our honeymoon in Hawaii. That following Christmas I got a Korean Cookbook. A not so subtle hint. LOL

actually that food sounds real dang good right about now. i may have to get something asian for lunch

There is a Korean place in the same shopping center with Sportsman Warehouse. I have ate there and it was just ok. I have begun to understand that to get some folks around here to try things it has to be "watered" down a bit. AKA, all these "Mexican" places around.... All they are is Tex Mex, not real Mexican. I would love to be able to walk into one and get a machaca or a carne asada burrito with soem salsa that wasnt Pace or Old El Paso or worse yet, tomato paste with onion. There are still a few things I miss (food) about my 16 years stationed in San Diego. LOL Anway, if you are interested in a decent Korean restaurant, there is one in Huntsville, The Korea House
