a Ruger Security Six, that is.:hat:

very nice gun for a very nice price might I add.

I can tell by the feel of it that it is not quite as refined as a S&W but it will serve its purpose just fine.

I need some bigger grips for it, anybody know where to get some that arent 90day+ special order?

oh, i cant forget the pics, dont want to get chastised...

That is a great, great choice. I've had a 4" Service Six for many years. Pretty much the same gun but with fixed sights and rubber grips. It has been my go to gun when I want something durable, reliable, and packing a punch.

I second the vote for Hogue grips. The wood ones are pretty, but I think the rubber ones might hold up better in a marine environment. Gripping the rubber would be easier if your hands are wet.

You'll love it. I have one also.

300+ round with me owning it, and who know how many my Dad, and

Grandfather

put through it. If I had to choose just one pistol in I currently own to defend my self I'd pick it. I most accurate with it, and so far it has gone bang every time.

If it wasn't so big, it would be the perfect choice for carry

thanks for the compliments and the grip suggestions.

i actually bought this for my dad. he keeps saying that he wants a .357mag revolver to keep around the house, but he will NOT go out to gun shops/pawn shops etc. looking for one. he didnt want to pay alot for one, under $400 but still doesnt seem to want to lay the cash down for one. i bought this one and while its not one im going to keep i dont see why i cant enjoy it a little bit for now. i plan on giving it to him for christmas this year, but i'll put a few rounds through it before then. i know its a good firearm, but ya still need to check it for reliability, right

Found these tonight.

I still like the houge grips, but the factory grips are growing on me.

I've actually got two. The 4" stays at home and I work on polishing it when I get the chance. I've been carrying the 2 3/4" lately.
