Today was a good day...

Had the privilege of attending an advanced handgun class with a group of my favorite people today.

All but 3 of the 14 people in the class were buddies of mine and/or co-workers that I invited. That alone made it really fun, since you get to cut up and talk smack with each other. Good Times!!

I'm pretty sure this was my 5th time through this course, but there were some new trainers with solid experience, so it was still fresh. Some of the drills were what you'd call the "classics", like the box drill and the close quarters drill. Others were not, like an active shooter drill with multiple assailants and threat assessment.

I'm really thankful the rain went south of us, even though I had packed/prepped accordingly. I'm also glad Jeff Eady at Pack 'N Heat was cool enough to let me scrape together enough guys to book the range. He's a great guy and I highly recommend his classes for HCP and Advanced Handgun.

Man that weather was perfect today. Overcast, cool and didn't rain until we made it inside. Had a blast as always. Hopefully it won't be another year before we get to do it again.

I had that tune in my head the whole time I was typing...wondering how to work in "Momma cooked a breakfast with no hog", but figuring few would get the reference. thanks for "getting it" guys.

I've been flooded at work this morning with people asking me why they weren't invited. I'm guessing the 3 guys from work must have really enjoyed it too, if they're talking it up this much.

I have that picture saved for the rare moments that I can use it like that.

That's because there are so few cool people left at your work...now that me, Theresa, Ellie, and Clint are gone.
