I have not shot the LCP. I have had a Keltec for years, with no problems. I assume Ruger has done a great job of advertising the LCP and more people have bought the LCP?

Methinks the name Ruger has more to do with it than anything else.

(Although these puppies seem to have somewhat more reliability probs than what one generally expect from Ruger).

Also, it was shrewd R&D/marketing/timing on Ruger's part to tailor a gun to the hugely expanding base of concealed carry folks, many of whom have never even owned a handgun before, or didn't have one small enough they felt they could carry.

One think I could never understand. Seecamp,Keltec and Ruger all have had production issues, long lead times. Seecamp was a small outfit, hand made guns. Keltec seems content to produce at their own pace, down in Florida. But Ruger, with their R&D, advanced machining centers, established supplier base, should be able to crank-out the LCP out, like gumballs. I don't buy the idea that they hold-back, just to make you want it more.

Some things I've read suggest that even Ruger itself was surprised by the immediate magnitude of consumer demand.

Well, so far the LCP has been flawless. I did run some HP thru it, mixed in the mag and it fed it all. I like the loaded chamber indicator and the slide lock, although it does not lock back after the last round is fired.

Same here with 250 rds through it no snags at all. Only two issues I have are with it not locking back on empty and now the wife wants, one so the search starts again.

I am wood brought up a sore point with me, that his wife wanted one too. My family is the same. I bought a Phoenix hp22 as a plinker. My daughter (glock 32) came home picked it up and said what a sweet little gun. Thanks dad. When my bersa 380 concealed carry came in the wife said, "It fits my pocket book perfect." When I brought the LCP home, My daughter said, you can have the phoenix back; the wife said I could have the 380cc back, and my son reminded me his 21st birthday was coming soon. Every gun I buy, should come in a 4 pack.

LOL too cute! If only, huh? :D

I have the LCP, was number 1 on the list of my newest favorite gun shop. BUT I have been very bad and I have NOT shot my LCP yet!! I am hoping too soon, the range I shoot at has different hours through the summer and is a few miles away and I have been very busy so I just haven't been able to get there. I HOPE to soon, I am anxious to see how she shots compared to the Kel-tec I just gave hubby.

Why don't you go to chilhowee rod and gun club? No set hours, all you have to do is not shoot during clay shooting or while the APD has the range.

Shooters in Benton Co. seems to be getting one in every week to 10 days. Got mine last week. I've ran 150 rds. thru it and no problems. I haven't shot a simi-auto in ages but this little gun is great. Hold good 4" to 5" groups at 10yds. (eyes not great) and trigger pull seems decent to me. I am well pleased with it. Wife also saw it and wants one.

Put the P3at clip on it and only problem was the clip pin was a little large to go back in the frame and thought I might have gotten the wrong one. Sanded the pin that came with the clip just a little and tapped right in. (Thanks Jambroskwi.)--MP
