Our 2 day Defensive Carbine will be held on Sept 13-14 in Smyrna.

Cost is $200.

Please visit our website for class info, prerequisites, and gear list.

Sept is fast approaching. If you are interested, be sure and register as we limit class size to 12 max.

There is alot a good training out there that I can recommend...but none of their prices come close to ours.

Regards

Tungsten...PM sent.

Majiccarpetrides...I wouldn't let that stop you. While not a completely basic class, we do the crawl, walk, run thing.

Anyone here who has been through any of our "Defensive Series" classes will probably confirm this.

Most times, starting out with professional instruction will get you better results down the road.

Tuns..I'll let you borrow an upper...if you buy MY ammo :-)

kidding...if that's the only thing stopping you...I'll have 3 ARs put together by then. If you need one...I'll let you use it

Danny, I figured you would want to run a flintlock rifle in keeping with bringing a 1911 to the Defensive Pistol class. :stare:

 try to be nice to SOME people...and see what ya get......

heh...no sights fell off...no pins came out...baby didn't balk with muddy mags...did better than some of the plastic fantastics until the reloads :-) Not my fault the JMB thought that you might actually be able to finish the fight with 8 rounds.:D:p:p

I placed my order for the remaining 500 rounds today. Now I gotta sweet talk the wife out of the registration fees.

Hahah... I can't be too mean to Danny. He did offer a rifle also (thanks to both Todd and Danny, btw!) and well his rock thrower kept running even when the XD mags choked on mud.

Next time, though, he needs to keep a camera on his person. With all of those trips back to reload while the rest of us were still shooting, he could have gotten some great action shots!

damn ain't that the truth. I think at one time during the second day I had 6 or 8 mags rattling around in pockets and various holders...still ended up running to load mags.

Todd...your site says at least 3 carbine mags...what would you suggest? How would you suggest carrying them?

Danny...I always suggest carrying extra mags as they most likely will be used. For me that means my raid vest. For someone in the military that may mean a chest rig. For a private citizen that may mean cargo/pants pockets. The method does not have to be "tacticool."

BTW, I've got a double mag thigh rig that someone can borrow if they want.

Not tacticool....bite your tongue man. Running about with a AR almost legally requires tacticool gear :-)

After fumble fingering around for spare mags in IDPA and the last class...I can see myself picking up some kind of chest rig or cheap vest for AR mags

That would make a good post. It would be neat to see just what is out there

at a decent price for something consumer grade.

Hey Todd...

What kind of rigs and stuff are you seeing coming through your classes?

(Out of curiosity.)

Creeky...cops/military guys mainly use their issued gear (raid vests/chest rigs). Private citizens usually use thigh rigs and pants pockets.

For thigh rigs, I have a Spectre Gear double mag pouch that I like and use to loan out.

Personally, I've gotten away from mounting gear on my legs for greater speed and mobility...I carry everything on my raid vest and belt (pistol, mags, cuffs, medical kit, gas mask, OC, knife, radio, and other assorted secret squirrel stuff).

Man, I would love to buy damn it 5.56 isn't getting any cheaper, can't find a .22 conversion kit, and damn my WASR-2 is not that reliable at the moment.

can the rounds be reload or do they have to be factory loads?

Danny,

I've got a 5.11 tac vest that I'm thinking about selling if your interested. Never used it. I think I am going to pick up a chest rig to try. Let me know

I might take yo up on it 10K. I'm going to stop by Greene Military and see what they have on the rack. They have a TON of Condor stuff http://condoroutdoor.com/default.php, I probaly wouldn't use it if my life depended on it...but for training it might be OK. I think last time I was there their vets were like 35.00...pouches extra..but not much

For people looking for the mall ninja gear, Greene Military has "raid vests" from Condor for around 35.00, pouches are anywhere from 6 to 12 dollars depending on the configuration. I can now order my CCW badge in confidence to wear with my raid vest next time I go to Opry Mills.

I found 500 rounds of Centurion Military Contract 55gr. FMJ Ammo from Ammunition To Go for 169.95 plus shipping. Total to my door was 183.02

(The 1K round box lists for 334.95)

now...all I have to do is sign up for the class :-)

The vest they have in stock in green tan and black
