Some refinish work on a 10/22

Did this a while back but just got around to posting up a couple pics.

I cleaned up a 10/22 receiver for another member here. Hit everything with the bead blaster so he could refinish it. I also drilled and tapped the stripped out scope mount holes and enlarged the counter sink holes to fit the new hardware. Maybe the other member will post up some photos when he gets it all done.

+1, I like it. Pics when done?--MP

Ill get some pictures up when the rifle is finished. The receiver is going to be duracoated in semi-gloss black.

The rest of the rifle:

- Skeeter Trigger Group w/ gold magazine release and gold full width trigger.

- S&K Satin Walnut Stock

- Green Mountain Silver 20" Fluted Sporter Barrel

- Bolt will be getting sent off to CPC for their full treatment

- Topped with a Mueller APV 4.5x-16x AO Scope

I am moving over the next couple weeks, but after I get settled into the new place I am hoping to get to work on finishing this thing up :)

HUGE thanks to Jason for helping me out on this project :P

I've put some serious thought into a custom built 10/22, but this AR build has been priority #1. After the AR is complete, I need to work on a pink .22 for my daughter.

I'm looking forward to the pictures of your finished product.

By the way, Jason--what do you charge to do something like that?

If you had asked me two weeks ago I would have said a 6 pack and all was even. After the air conditioning going out at home, the refrigerator going out, over $1000 spent on the wifes car, a night in the ER for my eye, the second fridge (beer fridge) going out, and my dog under the care of a surgical specialist at a cost of probably $3000 I might have to rethink that. I have had several friends say I should charge more for my services and stop doing everything for free.

I would say that if I was going to do this job for pay I would charge someone $20 for media blasting, a little deburr, and washing away any media/oils. Probably about the same to drill and tap or otherwise fix a scope rail.

WoW! Maybe I should stay away from you. I guess things can only get better from here.:D

$20 sounds more than fair. I don't need anything now, but I was wondering who would be a good person to contact when I do. The pictures above looked great.

Jason, are you sure you're living right? :D:D:D

Just kidding! have the patience of Job and you'll be ok. I spent 7 years like that and haven't had any real problems since!

I agree with you though..I'd charge for something like that.

can't wait to see your pictures!
