I just cast my first batch of ingots this weekend. I have 150 pounds of lead ready for the mold. I only have the Lee mold that you said wouldn't do so well. I may practice casting with those a bit this week till I can get a better mold.

You might try powder coating them. There is a really easy way to do it with only a toaster oven. No need to buy anything other than acetone, the powder coating and a oven to bake them in.

Or if you want I can coat some for you and send them back as long as I can keep some to try.

That would be really cool. Let me get to work on casting and I'll be in touch.

I have a suppressor that does not take down. Would the powder coating be suppressor safe?

The powder coating would be far better than shooting the lead bullets through it.

Not sure if you know this but shooting cast bullets through a suppressor is not a good idea unless you can take it apart to clean it. They clog up pretty quickly and add weight as well as reduce the suppressor effectiveness.

The heat atomizes the lead and then deposits it in the suppressor as the atomized lead cools. Also, I would not shoot bullets with gas checks unless they are Hornady with the locking groove.

Yeah, I knew about not shooting lead. I ordered a Liberty Mystic can a few weeks ago. It hasn't been transferred to my dealer yet. It's a take down can that has great reviews for the 300 blk.

I have a .45 Osprey, but its not take down either. Any chance a .45 diameter can would be safe for lead until the Mystic gets here?

I have a few thousand 175gr SMK pulled bullets I got from David on the forums. Thats what I have been loading lately. They cycle fine, but hoping to find a solution for shooting subsonic cast for less the a nickel a round.

Would like to hear more about the acetone powder coating. I picked up some powder coat at Harbor Freight Saturday to give it a try. Doesn't seem to be much info about the process online.
