Truck A/C problem

Recommended Posts

This evening I went to turn on the ac and no matter what the setting, no air would blow. It was working earlier today. I was wondering what are some things I could check myself before carrying it somewhere to get looked at. It is a 07 Tacoma prerunner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Blower motor, switch, fuse or breaker, controls on the dash? Do you hear the compressor coming on?

More information needed. What kind of A/C is it? Climate control, or manual? It makes a difference. Anything

else not working? Does the fan work with the heat on?

Right now, it sounds like the power isn't getting anywhere in the circuit until you tell me more. Check

the power distribution box, usually under the hood, or may be under the steering column.

Check your fuse block in the power distribution box. either that, the switch, or a burned up motor. Eliminate

them before you go any further, but just so you know, in some models, the fan being replaced is a pain.

It also could be as simple as a broken wire. Glad to hear the compressor is working.

You probably have an open or broken wire or other bad connection around the fan motor. Good to know.

I'd do the wiggle test on wires going to the motor. It will happen again, just maybe at the wrong time.

Beat on the bottom of the blower motor housing see if it comes on then if it does you need a blower motor.

on my 99 F150 the gauge lights quit working, lasted a couple of years.   Then in cold weather they would  work for a few minutes. Then all of the sudden they all worked like new.

Don't fix what ain't broken.

Ford's have parts that heal themselves
