New blade from Flatwoods Forge

Recommended Posts

Well, I forged one out to keep for myself, but after several inquires, I sold it. Now I made this one for myself. I call it the primtive warfighter.

8" blade, 4" handle. 1095 bar stock, 1/4" thick, 1 3/4" wide. Oak slab handles, 1/4" thick, attached with epoxy and copper rivets. Blade is convex ground, has a sharpened back edge. Point is a spear point for strength. Unless somebody buys it, this one will find a home in my camping and bugout gear. Yes I realize the front rivet is lower than the rear, I drilled it wrong.

Copper leather rivets from an amish tack shop. Forget the diameter but its the larger ones. those are 1 1/4" long. Might be 1/4" shank or so? Ill look next time I'm out at the shop. And I may have left it slightly flawed to make it easier to keep jcj. lol
