The scary part here is not that they could incriminate themselves, but that what they are doing is EXACTLY what the Health and Human Services Secretary mentioned in an article early in Obama's first term. I didn't search, but I do remember it. I am sure if someone searched they would find it.

The idea was that if the Government could find the children with proclivities towards violence, alcoholism, drug abuse and other things, they could prevent things like mass shooting, serial killings, murders, and a lot of other crime. Basically pre-crime policing. Determining who WOULD become a criminal before they did anything at all.

The meeting they were in I recall they were talking about following children from birth to adulthood, but to start this is EXACTLY one of the things that were mentioned.

Interesting.

When I read this line;

"The survey was not a diagnostic tool, but a "screener" to figure out which students might need specific help, Newkirk said."

I imagined someone telling a child, "you'll need proper indoctrination, it is for your own good".

Was at a meeting with our local State Rep on Saturday and Common Core was the subject.

Bad stuff, dumbing down is the good part of it, teaching the muslim religion as a way of life

is what is coming.

Good for him.

Maybe I expect too much, but I'd hope that by the time they're in high school, these kids would know what the "correct" answers are to questions on tests like these and answer them appropriately.

If you are talking about the meeting in Mt. Juliet, those speakers were full of it.  Nothing they said had any factual reference to Common Core.

Just the normal tin-foil hat junk from Lou Ann Zelnick.   :tinfoil:

Common Core is baseline standards for those states that agree to them.  Its not anything being driven by the Feds, state Governors begin to develop it back in the late 90s.  Local school boards are still in charge of their curriculum and the textbooks that support it.  Local schools boards can also (and most do) raise standards above the baseline of Common Core.  There is no dumbing down.

But Obama says: "If we can save just ONE child, we should take that step."   In other words, he's using the children as a catalyst for his dreams from his father.... "give up your rights, your freedoms and your lives for the good of society.....and trust your government to take care of you."
