Cabin Rentals for Latecomers

At this late date, certain members of my family thought it would be a great idea to rent a cabin somewhere in Middle or West Tennessee during the 4th of July holiday.  I promised to ask for suggestions here, knowing full well that I may be laughed to scorn.  Can anyone recommend a reasonably nice place to stay for 6-8 people who are otherwise responsible and of good character?

You might try Chickasaw. The rec area is not as nice as it was when I was a kid but the cabins are actually nicer than they were then. If you come let me know when and where and I will come over and show you some of the more remote areas of the parks.

You can try Standing Stone State Park. It's located near Livingston, TN. It's nothing amazing, but we've rented cabins there on a couple occasions, and it was quite fun and relaxing.

I used this rental company at Pickwick a few times. It looks like they still have some July 4th availability.

Thanks, guys.  Chickasaw and Pickwick want a least a week's rental.  That's too much for my wife's limited vacation allowance.  Standing Stone is a little too far for my relatives coming from Oklahoma, but it looks like a great weekend hideaway.  And I appreciate the offer of showing us the untrampled places at Chickasaw, jtmaze.  Perhaps we can spend a weekend there sometime, too.

I rent a cabin for a week in the spring. 

 

I reserve it nearly a year out.

We had a big family gathering and rented several cabins at Rock Island St park a couple years ago. Other than being hot as blazes that weekend, it was nice.

Tims Ford State park has cabin rentals. I don't know much more except they are nice cabins.

Nathan Bedford Forest State Park has nice cabins.
