Ammo is finally coming back!!! (I think)

I do believe ammo is finally making a small comeback. I have had very little trouble the last couple weeks finding my calibers. They are not on the shelves sitting like it was 6 months ago, but my LGS's have told me that shipments are becoming more stable. I was able to get plenty of 9mm, .40sw, 45acp, and .22lr today at one of them. They had plenty in and hand lifted their ammo limits. Now the supply is getting stronger again, but prices are still high. Just wanted to remind you to stay vigilant, and stay away from the price gougers. I just wanted to see if any of you were seeing this to, or have I just been at the right places at the right time? Hope it is getting easier for all of you, stay strong and vigilant. It is getting better.

I found 9 and .40 on shelves yesterday. 1st boxes of 9mm I've actually picked up from a shelf since January. Price was slightly high, but not bad.

I'm jealous as hell. In my neck of the woods I still haven't seen a box of 9mm fmj on any shelves for under $25 or a brick of .22 for under $70.

I got 9mm for $17 for FMJ 50 rounds and $25 for 50 rounds of HP. Then in .40 was $23 for 50 fmj. I got a mini brick 325 rounds of .22lr federal match for $25. Still high in price, but is coming back slowly.

I've been noticing an improvement in Nashville, still bare shelves at Walmart but a few of my LGS have been getting ammo pretty regular. Pretty soon we'll things come back to somewhat normal, we just need to not go out and strip the shelves bare again just because we can.

I may even starting shooting up some of my current supply soon.

I see more and more online deals. Local Wal-Mart is hit or miss, with the same guys there every night with family in tow. Saw .22lr thunderbolt for $2.99/50 on the natchez shooter's supply website. So I try to buy some.......apparently they wont ship it to TN, AL, or GA for some reason. Never dealt with them before, struck me as odd though

They have a deal with LGS's in those states that they cut the deals to so they won't sell to us so we have to go to the LGS.

I've always tried to avoid buying ammo at a LGS, if I could help it due to prices. The big box stores have barely raised their prices, which is why the LGS and internet corrks are scalping the ammo from these places. I've only checked a few LGS for ammo since the SHTF and their already higher prices are way too rich for my blood.

For instance, I was in Everything Weapons in Cool Springs the other day and saw a box of no-name .22 for $75 for 500. Their cheapest .45acp was "only" $30/50. Their cheapest .223 was $18/20. And there was no 9mm at all.

I'll just do without and/or keep picking up a little here and there using GunBot.net. I'd never have thought there'd come a day when I could buy ammo cheaper online w/ shipping than even a LGS.

Things have been improving, but still hit or miss most of the time at general retailers. Was at east side Walmart in Murfreesboro around lunch today. Plenty of rifle rounds, but handgun ammo was almost non-existent. However they DID have about 10 boxes of PPU 9mm FMJ. Also had big boxes (25 rnds) of Estate brand (France) 00 buckshot-- I'm well-set for 9mm,so I left it all on the shelf for others.

Did pick up a box of the 00 buckshot though-- can never have enough of that when it comes to defending the homefront.

The interesting thing is that this particular Walmart has a very easy-to-see sign that plainly states that all ammo is stocked at 7:00am. Which means the 9mm had been there since 7, yet there were still 10 boxes on the shelf at $14.99/box. That's a positive sign.
