Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp

I think it's all made up. This is the Trayvon that was brutally murdered by a white Hispanic. Why did this little boy have to pay such a big price just for wearing a hoodie?

I'm a Trayvon supporter, even have my signs ready to go to Florida next month. However, I think GZ's lawyers are doing this to taint the jury pool by making this kid look like crap. I'd love to see the background on "Z" man!

Can't wait to see DaveTn's opinion on this

Since you can’t wait here it is….
It isn’t troubling news; it’s desperation. Trayvon smoked pot and had a .40 cal Smith & Wesson? OMG. I would think a first year law student would know better than to try that. rollfloor.gif

A 17 year old kid that smoked pot and had a gun Vs. a guy whose girlfriend took out an order of protection claiming domestic violence and who attacked a cop in a bar while being arrested. Did Trayvon use his gun to shoot an innocent kid to death walking down the street because he didn’t look like he belonged in the hood? Zimmerman did.

He sent text messages about being a fighter, smoking marijuana and being ordered to move out of his home by his mother

I don't remember anything like that in the news or those saying nothing but good things.

I am not taking sides in this case.  probably enough wrong to go around to both sides.

Let's see, guns, drugs, fighting, I think the real problem for Team Trayvon will be the items found in Trayvon's belongings at school that school security officials refered to as a "burglary tool" which was some sort of modified screwdriver? as well as a nice little pirate-horde of women's jewelry, which obviously didn't belong to Trayvon ..

I'm glad the judge put a gag order on the defense. How can anyone get a fair trial? They have been digging in the trash since day one and painting Zman as the victim. This is going to be a interesting trial!

Since the debate continues I will ask what I asked in the first epic thread and got nothing but politician responses.

What would YOU DO as a licensed and permitted handgun carrier if someone was on top of you slamming the back of your head into the pavement?

The events leading up to your potential death or permanent disability are really irrelevent.  At the point Zimmerman fired the shot heard round the country he was in such a postition and the events leading up to that do not justify his "taking an ass-whoopping".

I don't think anyone is surprised by this new evidence. Seemed pretty clear TM was a thug from the get-go, not an innocent kid.

GZ is no saint, either, but I don't believe what he did wrong warranted him dying, which is what would have happened if TM kept bashing his head against that sidewalk.

I understand where you are coming from. Zman was 250 pounds. Trayvon was a 6'3 140 pound beanpole. You telling me a 140 pounder can over power a 250 pounder? Here some more photos released by the defense. Note the hoodies in a couple of pictures the defense said trayvon was wearing.

Zimmerman was NOT a robust muscle-bound 250 pounder. He was a short doughy, out of shape fat guy. Even at 6'3" and only 140 pounds, I bet your average 17 yr old kid is lean, quick, and strong enough to whoop the crap out him.

If I saw them squared up against one another in a street fight my money would be on TM, for sure.

Weight is totally irrelevant, contrary to what some people think.

Unless wrestling it involved, then it definitely is.

I think Zimmerman is innocent and have thought so pretty much from the beginning, mostly because before all the political/racial shit started the DA had declined to prosecute (I really, really doubt a prosecutor would not prosecute if he thought he had this serious of a winnable case) and especially after the un-doctored tapes and witness statements started to come out.

I think these pictures and text messages just shows "sweet little Travon" for exactly what he is, a want-a-be badass/gansta with not a lot going on upstairs and a big chip on his shoulder.

I would do my best to stop the threat which at my age and physical condition would most certainly involve the use of a firearm.

The key to this whole mess is whether or not Zimmerman will be held responsible for starting the incident.

If, as seems to me to be the case, Zimmerman was returning to his vehicle (had disengaged) and then Martin jumped Zimmerman then Martin, was the aggressor and clearly presented a threat of death or great bodily injury to Zimmerman and Martin got exactly what he deserved.  On the other hand, if Zimmerman was still actively pursuing Martin or did something that caused Martin to reasonably believe he was under imminent threat then Zimmerman is the guilty party.

I know it's just opinion but my gut tells me that Martin was a thug-want-a-be and was looking for a way to improve his gansta image and started the physical altercation with Zimmerman after Zimmerman could no longer be reasonably considered to be a threat to Martin.

The only reason any of us ever heard about this case is because an "almost" white guy killed a black youth.

What kills me the most is that none of us were there that night. We only know what the news has reported yet many of you are convinced Zimmerman was out for blood.

I am sure there is evidence from both sides that we haven't seen but my guy is that Zimmerman is acquitted.

If I started the fight then no.

In high school there were probably many compromising photos taken from me. Kids smoke pot and drink. It doesn't prove anything in regard to what happened; it's just an attempt at character assassination. If they bring that into court they need to bring Zimmerman's previous run-ins with the law as well. It baffles me that folks will scream about how Z was never convicted of assaulting a police officer although he was charged, yet are all about focusing on Martin's behavior for which HE never charged. How does that make sense?

How does it make sense? Probably because of the out & out distortion of Trayvon's character was portrayed as a 6 yr old angel, who was skipping merrily & innoccently down to the store to fetch candy & iced-tea, when mean evil white guy gunned him down in cold blood for simply being black.

Now folks are taking a closer look at this lil angel & not liking the fact we were lied too, had the facts purposely distorted by folks who had a racial agenda & now having to watch Zimmerman go through the grinder for defending himself against a brutal assault at the hands of this lil angel.

"Justice for Trayvon" *spit* has already been served, now it's time to drop the obviously trumped up charges on Zimmerman & arrest Trayvon's parents or "auntie" or who ever it was who hid/covered up the fact that Trayvon had planted dope plants & a stolen handgun in his bedroom and charge them with hindering a homicide investigation.

Not only can but did. There's not even a question about that. its in the report.

having boxed years ago, a person that's 6'3 has a tremendous reach advantage over a person several inches shorter . this far outweighs any weight advantage.

seems like everyone has forgotten the statement that martin saw the gun while beating z'man's head on the concrete after jumping him on his way back to his truck and was trying to get it from him.

this was self defense in every way until the liberal misinformation specialist got in on it.

It doesn't matter what either of them were before that night or what they aspired to be. I'll maintain that if the "watch captain“ had let the real cops do their job that night we wouldn't be talking abouth this.
