My new VEPR AK-47

I just got a Russian VEPR RPK AK-47 today. I'm so excited. I really like this rifle. I feel like I hit the lottery or found a pirate's treasure chest. It came with an extra telescoping stock and pistol grip, 2 30 rd mags, 4 20 rd mags, a mag loader, and a hard plastic rifle case. I need to pick up 1000 rds of 7.62x39, 2 40 rd mags, and some wood furniture to stain Russian Red. Before you ask, I don't know what kind of FCG it has or any other specifics. I'm new to AK's and don't know much about these yet. I hope to learn alot from y'all and the folks in the AK forums. Without further addue(sp?), here are the pics.

Brian, you will find a better signal to noise ratio in the posts over on M4Carbine.net in their "Other Rifles" forum.

Arfcom used to be good back in the day but it's grown past the point that the moderators are able to effectively police. If you want to read a dozen threads about what baclava looks most tactical with your Wiley-X tactical sunglasses, Arfcom's the place. If you want to read stuff with more professional content, try M4C. :D

I would give one expendable body part for a VEPR in 7.62. Nice score.

These look very nice, I've been wanting some sort of zombie weapon.

$400? Wow! Aren't they usually near 900-1k?

beautiful gun and great find. You could flip it and get 2 ak's now

According to the girl I spoke with at Robinson Arms, those guns were $599 in '03. The distribution deal fell through, so they don't sell new ones anymore. If you find one, the going price seems to be about a grand according to her. She said that if they start distributing them again, the price will probably be about $850. Think I'll hang on to this one. Now, on to an AR...

what'd you do with the tacticool stock that was on the LSN ad pic?

Posted

The LSN add made it look alot better than it was. I dont know what the Tapco stock was for, but its not a VEPR. I'd probably give it away at this point. The pistol grip is ok, but again, not for my rifle. There wasn't even a hole in the top of the stock to mount it to the gun. It must have just been sitting together for photo purposes. Maybe I can find a part number on that stuff somewhere and if somebody wants it, we can make a deal. I need ammo.

lol...it looks a lot better than the one in the pic, even though I'm more of an under folder fan. Should be a good rifle for you. Golden tiger 7.62 shoots great and is some of the cheapest I've found.

I bought it at a gun shop in huntsville, al a few months ago. even with tax it was close to what I'd seen wolf at online and shoots cleaner. I cant remember exactly how much it was

Academy Sports has barnaul 7.62x39 for 4.86 per 20.

Found a VEPR 7.62 with pretty rough finish on GB. Current bid is at $1400. You made out good with this gun.
