East Tn, like many other places, is absolutely being destroyed by prescription narcotics.

It's gotta stop.

So it is clear, not bashing police, they said he has not worked for the police since about 2004.  He was even one of the police in Beans station and I believe lived there.

I have met the ex officer involved long ago when he was an officer with Grainger County. He had a history before this today. In 2000 his father, Chief Randy Holt, was the chief officer for Grainger county sheriff department. At this time his son (I believe), Jason Holt, worked for the department. I am not sure when Jason Holt left the department but his father, Randy Holt, went to 911 service in 2002 when the newly elected sheriff cleaned house. There were several brothers who worked for the sheriff's department at the same time and I assume they all left at the same time. The reason I remember this is I applied for a position and Chief Randy Holt told me he would hire friends and family before me. I thanked him for being honest and never applied again.

Prediction, because of who he is related to and who else is likely involved Jason Holt will not get what any of us would consider a fair sentence.

Maybe this will bring our county under the watchful eye of the state or feds. Our county's court system is screwed up. We are already being looked into for a disproportionately high amount of dismissed and time served cases. We recently had a DUI kill someone and get 48 hours in jail. Every week our newspaper is a list of dismissed charges that should be felonies.
