So how close should you be to make it "sporting"?

That's where I couldn't find a clear line between "sporting" and video-gaming in real life.  Were the cost to come down significantly, this is the kind of development that could help those who hunt to feed their families, along with any number of yet-undiscovered benefits.  I'd bet that hunters who feel like the tech takes away from the fieldcraft and skill required to take their game of choice will continue to hunt the way they always have, and will not be impacted by those with the cash to take advantage of Tracking Point's technology.

As far as whether the video was edited to prevent viewers from seeing any misses or bad shots, it's all conjecture.  I'd imagine we'll be seeing in-depth field reviews of the equipment from reputable sources soon enough, and then we might have a better idea as to how effective the system is.  TTAG did one last December, before the guns went to market: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/12/foghorn/hands-on-with-trackingpoint-precision-guided-firearms-ttag-exclusive/

I was being sarcastic. But I have seen it in recent times. When an electronic piece of equipment fails some people find themselves lost, both figuratively and physically.

I got a friend online that I dearly love like family (so Im not really talking bad about her LOL) but when she loses her phone , which is often enough, she never knows ANY phone numbers she calls. At least I have an old paper addressee book for a backup.

How do you determine at what distance a shot is sporting? An old Apache would say that when you can touch the animal with your arrow, that's about right.
