Obama the first

I will admit growing up that “firsts” fascinated me. I would learn of the first black person to do something, and I got a sense of pride. I even wanted to be the black "first” of something myself. However, as I grew up I began noticing how “black firsts” actually segregated me from the rest of the world. What good was it to be the first “black” to do something that an Asian or a Mexican, or any other culture had done for example? That just made me second, or one of the people who accomplished something that others had already done.

So hes proud to be the first back president but ashamed to not be the first president?

don't try to put logic into this situation  :)

On a more serious note I can see how that race issue can be bittersweet for those who endeavor to be leaders.  It made me think twice about Olympic Athletes as well.

When you want to be first to do something, but forget that it's more important to do whatever it is, well,

you haven't accomplished anything. All this one has done is cost, and fuel more racism amongst his

followers while accusing everyone else of it.

He would do wise to let Clinton keep his claim of being the first one. Makes him look different, doesn't it?

Actually, he's the first biracial president. We don't have a "first" black president yet, unless you count Bill Clinton.
