I had a set of dies and 200 230 gr .45 boolits shipped for half of that price. I am not that desperate yet. I don't know where they are shipping from but I will wait before I pay $22 s&h.

I saw that after I posted....still $19.00 shipping ups gnd +3.00 haz mat

That $3 is the "special handling charge" for spending under $25.

I'll say it again, Uncle Larry really needs to work on those shipping costs.  Missouri ain't all that far from TN.

I agree.

And if you have your C&R on file with them (no "dealer pricing" on this stuff LOL), they charge an extra $4.00 because the order is less than $50.00.

I appreciate Midway, it's a great company with excellent selection and great customer service. But the S&H fees eat you up...whatever handling is...

Why does MidwayUSA charge a Special Handling Fee?

MidwayUSA attempts to keep costs low to give Customers great pricing. The Special Handling Fee offsets the higher cost for handling small orders.

  • $3.00 charge for retail orders under $25.00
  • $4.00 charge for dealer orders under $40.00

Above info from Midway USA

I managed to grab a couple of items from my wish list to get over the $40 minimum for dealer. Still, $15.43 to ship a $46.47 order. :(

More than I would have paid, but then again, it sounds like you bought competition-grade ammo, which is usually more expensive anyway. Don't sweat it-- at least you have some now. Treat yourself by rationing a 50-rnd box and taking a trip to the range!

The madness will end eventually, it's just going to take a while, especially for .22.

Thats the same price I was paying for that same ammo 2 years ago.  I've never shot a more accurate 22 round.  You did fine.
