Left Handed ARs and .22 conversion kits

Recommended Posts

First off, I'll admit I'm new to the whole AR scene. I've studied these things for awhile and have just recently purchased one.

I'm left handed, so I purchased a Stag Arms left M4 Carbine. How I'm going to like it remains to be said. I haven't had a chance to shoot it, yet.

HOWEVER, I have friends and relatives (right handed) that all own AR-15s and have purchased .22 conversion kits in order to plink cheaper than shooting .223.

Here's the question(s).....

Will the .22 conversions on the market now work in a left handed AR?

If not, is there a left handed .22 conversion for a left handed AR?

OR

Am I just S.O.L.?

Also how many of you guys are using these systems in your

ARs? Do you have any problems?

The Ciener kit works great, and we have had great success running them both semi and full auto.

Jonathan is pretty much known in the industry as a grumpy old man and prick to deal with, but he designed one hell of a great .22 conversion kit.

The Ciener kit will not work on a left handed AR.

You'll like the stag. I have the model 2l and have been well pleased with it. 100% reliable so far (approx 600 rds) They're very nice rifles for the money and its fun to throw brass back at the folks slinging brass at you at the range.

Left handed AR? Sounds like you just need to get rifle that has front eject or bottom eject ;-D I would be so angry if SHTF and the only rifle I ran across was for a lefty :D

So I guess you wouldn't like shooting my M&P 9 then since I switched the mag release to the right hand??? :D

what would be the difference in right and left handed guns, ? just the ejector and charging handle, maybe safety? are there other components that would be mirrored? is it just to avoid brass in the face, or would that even be an issue? sorry for the ignorance guys, but i guess asking is the best way to learn when i can't find out for myself with reasonable effort.
