Our gun school and gun shop will be hosting the shoot at our range (the Sterling Range) which is located just west of Oak Ridge behind the K-25 facility in the Dyllis Community.

We will be meeting at 11:30 at Cptn. Tom's Bar-B-Que rest. in Oliver Springs which is located just North of Oak Ridge on Hwy 62. It's next to Ace Hardware on the right side of the highway. He is gun friendly so no need to unstrap prior to entering. Below are maps to his place and a photo.

After lunch we will caravan to the range via Poplar Creek Road.

For those that can not make lunch the range will be open at 12:45 pm.

Below are directions. The first link is a series of maps with GPS coordinates the second link is written instructions from the corner of Hwy 95 (Oak Ridge Turnpike)and Hwy 62 (Illinois Ave.) in Oak Ridge.

Park in the yard and call 483.1108 to be picked up by the RTV or enjoy a leisurely walk back to the range (about 400 yds). There is a range release which must be filled out and a $10 range fee which I pay to the land owner for the use of the property.

Y'all come!

I plan on being there again. If it's needed, my truck can be used again as a mule.

I'm gonna be shooting IDPA in cleveland that day or I would try and make it. Been wanting to get to a east tn shoot to meet some of you NE tn people. Maybe we should try and do one next month somewhere between knoxville and chattanooga

Damn, I was hoping to take a vacation day to come to this one but as it happens this also falls on the same day as a special event at the zoo I have to work. I think my supervisor would laugh in my face if I asked for the day off. Oh well. One of these days. Have fun.

I don't think I am going to anymore shoots until BK, AB, and Magic can see there way fit to get their priorities straight.

I would like to come and eat, as well.

However, I am allergic to pork, so does this BBQ place have other things on the menu?

If it's Kingsport on a weekend when you can make it, give me a holler and we'll carpool.

I took Cody (c.a.s.) with me for my first trip in July. I had a great time.

Yeah, I've lived here almost a year and have yet to make it to a shoot. I think it would be great to put some faces to some names.

Little known fact: The designers and manufacturers of Trijicon night sights did their initial studies on the highly conspicous Oak Ridge chicken who's breed name is the Beryllium Bantam. :D

well guys, I'm now in Nashville. We left out of Chattanooga last night. I've got to be at the warehouse here at the home office at 8 this morning. *sigh*

I don't know how far it is between Nashville and Knoxville..but I've gotta head that way on my first day off anyhow and meet up with CKnight.....he bought my thunder5 from me. I'll bet you guys that I get to go to at least one meet from every region of the state! :woohoo: that's my goal anyhow.

:D
