New snubbie

Picked this up today at Guns & Leather: S&W 442

This is my second J-frame "snubbie." (I also have a 642.)

The new kid will guard my desk in the home office and be my sometimes carry gun/bug.

GF picked up her new carry gun today as well -Springfield EMP. I'm jealous, but paid $600 less for my 442 than she did for the EMP. She loves that little mini-1911.

Thanks to Dennis, Mark & all the good guys at Guns & Leather. A pleasure as usual.

Grats! You guys get to shoot them yet? Interested in hearing her results with the EMP.

You know the drill... this thread is worthless without pics (of both guns).

Ok, so y'all are too lazy to click the link, huh? :D

Here's a pic of the new snubbie:

Here's one of the EMP:

The GF had to split, so we did not get to shoot them yet. We'll be heading back to G&L this week to do just that.

I like the J-Frame in black -very cool. Thinking about the grips. Part of me wants to take off the factory grips and put some Hogue monogrips in their place. But another part of me wants to keep the gun as small as possible as it will be used for deep concealment/bug duty. Still pondering that decision. Thoughts are welcome.

One negative on the EMP is that it seems one must depress the mag release button when inserting a magazine. I don't like that at all. On the plus side, the gun came with 3 mags, a nice case, mag holder and holster -and a lifetime guarantee.

Whenever i find the time to get my carry license my 442 will be my everyday. Its just so comfortable to shoot also. No complaints about recoil here.

Congrats

I have a 642 w/ the 405 CT grips (smaller version). It lives in a Mika pocket holster everywhere I go. I also carry a Glock G30 IWB, but for some of those places, such as work, that I can't carry the Glock, the 642 is in the pocket along with 2 speed strips.
