I've noticed the mosquitos are out in full force, likely thanks to all of the standing water we have lingering from the recent rains.  Awesome.

Yep. And they've already been testing positive in the Nashville area for West Nile.

Great news.

Looks like you drove thru Green River Utah.  Worst place for bugs I've ever been to.

I'm the proverbial mosquito magnet.  I'm not looking forward to this summer in that respect.

If you see standing water around, toss in one of these (or even half of one).  They're cheap and they work.

I use those in my 500 gallon "rainwater barrel" that i water my garden from. I looked in a hole one day last year and there were about million skeeters and larva in it! I felt lucky they didn't attack my eye! Went and bought those the next day!

I've got a 50 gal rain barrel and 2 fountains that I put them in.  Lots of wiggling larvae one day, none the next.  Win!

I read somewhere that there's still hundreds of abandoned houses with swimming pools in the Katrina impact zone.  Some group was raising a particular type of fish that eats the larvae and essentially stocking all the abandoned pools to help control the mosquitoes.

I use Suspend SC for around our house and pool. With a large Bug Zapper running a few hours a night close to the creek. (The Suspend SC is very bad to use in/around fresh water sources as it is hazardous to marine life)

I got chewed up lastnight. Im pretty pale which to my understanding the more pale the more carbon dioxide you give off. Blood sucking insects as well as bees usually target areas where carbon dioxide is.
