I don't think you need a license to keep a loaded long gun in your vehicle in Kentucky.  I know for a fact you don't need one there to openly carry a handgun or keep a handgun in your glovebox.

Ive already went and come back from Kentucky and from what I could interpret there isn't a law that forbids anyone from having a loaded long gun in their vehicle as long as it is in plain view. Tn doesn't allow loaded long guns in vehicles. The only exception is for hcp holders they can have a long gun with a loaded magazine but an empty chamber. Edited by tennessee01tacoma

I was a police officer in Kentucky from 1997-2000 and when I was there, the law did not prohibit the carry of any firearm, loaded or unloaded, as long as it was in plain sight or in your trunk. Loaded handguns could be kept in your factory-installed glove compartment (dashboard only; center console didn't count).
