where you can take your handguns & practice training drills and not break their "rules"?

DH & I don't belong to any of the rod & gun clubs, or know people who do. The closest public range is the rifle range in the Cherokee Nat'l Forest near Unicoi. It's not the best place because it's not set up for handguns & the targets are a looong way out there. I have read some threads where the poster mentions getting a hard time from ROs about double taps, etc. Tac2 is in Greenville, but that's 45 miles from home.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Isn't Pointe Blank still open in Johnson City?

I have no idea, but I used to hear people comment on how nice the indoor range was. (Shrug)

There is always the Rat Branch gun range at Watauga Lake as well.

I am sorry but that is near one of the funniest things I have read today.

45 mile? It reads like it is three days drive away. 45 miles is like an hour away.

Has our society become so lazy and demanding that places to go must be within 15 minutes from home?

Last I heard Point Blank closed due to fire, but that was a couple of years ago, and I never did verify the story's accuracy.

I go to Jacob's Creek up on Holston Mountain. It's just a public range much like Unicoi but not as maintained. I go on rainy, crappy days to do drills because it's almost always empty in bad weather co I can walk in as close as I want. I've thought about trying Kettlefoot Rod and Gun Club. I'd like to try Tac2 myself.
