Was curious as what dies and or setup members are using to reload 300. Have a Dillon 650 and am trying to make a decision on what to run w regard to 300 AAC. Lots of net opinions on loads and lead but. Am trying to tool up right the first time. All assistance is appreciated.
Thanks

Get whatever you can get right now. They will all work as well as the next one. I have used Lee for at least 2,000 rounds now without any issues. I do like the Hornady dies and would really like to find a set of RCBS. The reason is I shoot cast lead bullets and those two have replaceable expander balls of differeing sizes.

I do believe there are a few brands that will not work with the Dillon but I am not sure which ones.

I trim my cases intially with a Harbor Freight mini chop saw. Then I size the cases and doa  finish trim using a Lee cutter and a trim rod I made from a modified 7.62x39 trim rod.

The best trimmer there is once the cases have been shopped and sized is a WFT trimmer. They are pricey but they are quick and more importantly easy. I made one of those as well but prefer to use the Lee.

I use the same chop saw as Dolomite. I trim with an RCBS power trimmer with a 3 way cutting head. It's an expensive setup, but works real well.

Hey Mike,I just picked up a RCBS pro 2 motorized with a rcbs case station and crimp remover......Am assuming the 3 way head is fine for 300 AAC? and which of the pilots are you using for 300 AAC??? am a little leary of the 3 way until i spoke w someone that owned one. Also ordered the machined  jig for the HF cutoff saw...i saw the wooden one but opted for the zep jig instead wanting speed and better accuracy

thats where i ended up getting the 1200,fair prices for sure.heck 6.95 shipping...ctd had the combo trimmer you have am debating it...on a side note brads warehouse has dillon millled heads and a trim die for 300aac...apparently using thiis setup theres no need for anything extra...well see unless someone posts otherwise....hint hint

I think the Dillon Trimmer and trim die is all you need.

That is correct,

I chop mine close before running them through the dillon to save wear on the motor.

Yep. I need to tweak the jig on my chop saw before I make any more brass. Mine cuts a little long right now.

here what i'm running so far:

HF chop saw w zep 58"s jig, cutting as close as i can to 1.375 - 1.390

decap and size w hornady new style 300 AAC die

trim w WFT  ( def use safety glasses)

check w LE Wilson case guage, tumble and clean, clean primer pocket,

hopefully when this dillon motor comes in brass shavings will diminish....
