Needs more drip-drips, and more scandals. MAYBE some straw would break the camel's back and even Chris Matthews would begin to admit the guy is a crook.

Fast&Furious was pretty damning but they were still teflon on that issue. But Fast&Furious doesn't "go away" just because IRS abuses and Benghazi are added to the camel's back. Eventually maybe the weight will grow too heavy for the camel to bear, but it will have to get awful heavy.

I was working at a Psychiatric Hospital during Watergate, and so accidentally happened to see a great deal of that evolve on the ward's "day room" television over the months, though wasn't much interested in politics at the time. Major networks would kill off soap operas to show hearings and such. Republicans back then were covering for Nixon at least as "partison circling the wagons" as the democrats do for this admin. The R congresscritters denied and excused and dissembled for many months before the camel gave way under the load.

I predict that by this time next year Obama will be "Satan".  He will be sacrificed on the altar of democrat political expediency by the leftist media and the democrate party for the sake of the party.   The democrats will have to re-invent themselves somehow to distance themselves from the scandals, treachery, thuggery, etc., etc.. that the present regieme is attached to; and to prepare to fool us "delightful rustics" for the next election cycle.  The democrats will have to do the Bill Clinton-Al Gore thing and say "...we aint like them leftist democrats in power now.... We are the new "...fill in the blank here...democrats ".  I cant wait to see how this next campaign season develops.

You're dreaming I say, fat-chance of that happening.

There are some blogs and reporters acting like they may be willing to throw O under the bus, already.

Leroy could be on to something. The Dems aren't completely united, all of the time, especially when

pesky things like Benghazi gets in the way of their cushy political trappings. And, if Hillary thinks she

will ride the socialist train to the presidency, given her involvement in the Benghazi incident without

trashing him in the process, she won't stand a chance. It will be one tricky maneuver for the Dems to

ride the gravy train after Obama destroys everything and kills everyone's gravy train, if there's anything

left to rule.

Your point is well taken.  I've never seen anything like this administration before either; and there is some real "low information" hero worship and some "get even" cheering surrounding the great Obama.  Havin said all that; there are some interesting things going on that cause me to believe the Dems are gonna have to "rebrand themselves" and distance themselves from the extremists in their party; and Obama is certainly an extremist by anyone's yardstick.

One of them is the Benghazi thing that wont go away (....interesting read here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/12/curl-watch-out-petraeus-benghazi-scandal/

...) and the IRS thing this thread is about.   The third is the loss on the "expanded background check" thing in the senate; along with the absolute thrashing on the Barbara Boxer/Schumer gun grab provisions in spite of the administration's very visible support for them.   Surely the "smart" democrat strategists know they cant keep up the mantra that this current administration is using.  It's very possible that they may loose the Senate majority after the 2014 elections.

In summary, i believe the Obama administration has lied so much, mistreated so many (...the IRS even bothered Jewish organizations -- a real "sacred cow" to the democrats...), and been so high-handed in doing so (...ALA Lincoln...) that they have offended most everybody in the country.

And all this grabbing was poorly thought out by the hard left elitists. The political leaders fell for all this

power grabbing and went for it, along with the willing media they are taking down with them. The politicos

are starting to feel the heat and want nothing of it.

Watch for many spins from Hell about everything from Benghazi, Obamacare, Fast and Furious , the IRS

audits and many more that the political class can't deal with. Obama is living within a house of cards.

Gen. Petraeus is furious and will probably cause a huge stink with the Benghazi lies. when he steps up to

the plate I think there will be many more to do the same.

This stuff will not go away, and President Kardashian may be relegated to the ash heap of history as the

communist he is.

The IRS scandals pose a danger of gradually leaking up the chain of command if they try to pin it on low-level employees.

For that strategy to work, at the very least the scapegoated low-level employees will need high-paying jobs in Soros-funded think tanks and star-quality "pro-bono" legal representation.

Otherwise, the low level employees don't have enough money and resources to be fired and possibly prosecuted, and cheerfully keep their mouths shut. Unless they are taken care of "very well indeed" they won't have much choice but to squeal on people farther up the chain?

Articles of Impeachment against President Nixon, Article 2, Item 1:
"He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavored to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner."

I hear ya and I believe in history repeating itself and he's looking a lot more like Nixon than Carter at this point BUT, I ain't believing until I see him escorted out of the WH.

I just don't think there's enough backbone in Washington to see it through.

If we can sweep the 2014 elections to our side I'll be much more optimistic, until then.....I'ma hopin too.  :usa:

Yesterday's Holder hearing was almost as entertaining as bear baiting. Poor Eric just doesn't know. Anything. But luckily he is such a likeable chap and a prince of a fella. You just can't help but like the guy. It would be a real shame if Holder happened to be an arrogant know-it-all sanctimonious tool in addition to knowing nothing, absolutely nothing, about anything.

If an arrogant tool were to blather on for hours about nothing, in response to yes/no questions-- Supreme expression of passive-agressive disdain-- Apparently just to tweak people he doesn't like-- Such behavior might convince some people that Holder deserves to go up the river for a dime's worth, just on general principles. :)

One can get ticked off by tools. It is probably bad for one's mood to watch these hearings.

Here is an admittedly "out of context" but mercifully brief distillation of hours of testimony--

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdJ2trGelbE

Offered is nine minutes of borderline dull exasperating proceedings, to give a taste of the psychological effect of istening to hours of the stuff. The last minute or so is especially "interesting."--

I appologize for the off topic but as it is slightly related I didnt see need to start another thread.

Two posters on another forum both stated they hear Peirs Morgan (on his show) say that two weeks ago he would have thought Americans owning guns to defend against tyranny would be nuts. But now with the IRS scandal he gets it.

I find this very hard to believe and have been searching youtube and blogs for this quote. The posters did not provide any links. Anyone have a clue about this?

Edit to Add:
Not sure if Im allowed to post a link to another forum but Im getting ready for work and dont have time to check the rules. Just posting it to show I didnt dream this lastnight lol

(Not ignoring RedLights&Siren's question, merely continuing my previous post)--

This one get interesting around 6:30 where Holder goes on a strange rant-- Holder maintains that the representative "doesn't know anything about the issue" but Holder "does know and knows that the rep is wrong" however, on the other hand Holder refuses to tell what he knows, which the rep is asking for. Ha ha ha, I know and you don't, you ignorant republican, and I ain't telling, because I don't know (nudge wink).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAAR8v_F2bA

It is difficult to give the "overall impression" from relatively brief snippets. They've had Holder in that seat every few months for years. Several hours per session, all of about the same nature. Half of those many hours devoted to combative uninformative sparring with republicans, and the other half of those many hours devoted to democrat congresscritters publicly fellating Holder. If you just pick out any one exchange, Holder might not display the full essence of his arrogant toolness. The gestalt builds with repeated exposure.

Of course the republicans are tools as well. I wouldn't invite any of those people to my home, and if for some reason I spied them coming, would tell em, "Get the hell of'n my land afore I call the law." :)

Dipping into armchair psychology-- I make no pretense that this is the truth, merely idle guessing-- Possibly Holder views Issa as a latter-day incarnation of McCarthy persecuting a wise, just and brilliant, totally inoocent Holder with these wrong-headed questions. Perhaps Holder's criticism of Issa, in Holder's mind, he was trying to duplicate the Welch-McCarthy moment that broke the back of McCarthy's power. On the other hand, Welch got applause and Holder did not. :) One was righteous and the other is merely an obnoxious tool.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO2iiovYq70

In the midst of so many tools in that hearing room, perhaps we could crown Holder The Prince of Tools.

I also suspect that Holder might honestly believe that Issa wouldn't be giving him such a hard time if Holder were not a black man. I think Issa would give The Prince of Tools a hard time regardless of his color, but on the other hand it is disturbing to have a fella with such strange ideas running the Justice Department. Or at least collecting a check for running the Justice Dept. He apparently knows nothing about his job.

I mean, delusions of racist persecution would make me feel sorry for a person. Deluded people are to be pitied rather than despised. But out of 300 million citizens, do we have to put a delusional man in charge of the justice department?
