Tell the truth! You just like the feeling of whoopin' tha piss outta stuff! LOL

Ok, that too. Lmfao. There is no stress relief like beating the hell out of hot steel with a 4 or 6 lb hammer. You really want to work it out, use that 24 lb sledge. Though you might have a hernia when your done lol.

SOMEWHERE, I have some steel if I can find it, I'll send it to you.  I have some 41S42 which is a sulphurized Chrome Molybdenum steel and some exotic stuff too; Some Viscount-44 which is H-13 pre-heattreat.  It's a hot rolled tool steel and a miserable SOB to machine.

I have some crucible steels too, but I doubt you could forge that stuff very easily.  CMP-10-V is a nightmare to work with.

AND, I have some high speed steel that's still soft (well, there ain't a dang thing soft about it!!!) Some T-15 and few pieces of M42 I wanted to make knife blades from.  I never will.  I'll look for them in storage next time I'm there and if I can find them, I'll give you shout.

That would be intresting to work with. I'd love the chance to try it lol.

I've read about people machining knives, rather than forging them. Seeing as how I'm a student machinist, I'd love to give it a try someday. You might have to slip some ideas my way, Caster!

I could use some of those steels too, especially the crucibles, as I do mostly stock removal right now. I just made myself a 195lbs anvil today so I can start forging too. I'll post a little WIP about it after the baby goes to sleep.
