I went to Hart Ln. Station in Nashville on Friday and payed for my renewal. I'm getting the process started early, permit expires in October. Anyone renew lately?

I just renewed.  Sent it off @ the 1st of February and got the confirmation letter on 2-20 but the actual new permit took about 8 weeks.  I still haven't gotten the duplicate that I paid for.

Yes,  I did mail it.  Didn't know at the time on line renewal was available.

I don't think it is for renewal, can't find it if it is.

My comment was to Volzfan, who said he renewed "online" ?

I went to my local dmv for an address change Jan 29th, wife went two days later. Still nothing on either one. Guess I should call somebody.

If you mean on your HCP, unless their policy has changed, they don't send you a new one for an address change.

I think you can apply for a duplicate if you want yours to reflect current address.

edit: yep, here is info:

Yes, we both applied for a duplicate, but they took our permits with the wrong address. I called the local DMV and they are looking into it.

Oh no, they shouldn't have done that -- that left you without being able to carry at all, and that's not in the protocol.

Sometimes a duplicate takes as long as original HCP or renewal turnaround. My renewal was over 4 months this last time (and included a dupe). Hopefully they'll hurry up and work something out, but you may need Lisa in Nashville to work this one out fast, as I have little confidence in the average DMV worker.

They gave us the yellow paper that says we can carry with a photo id and the receipt.

Oh, that's good then. Didn't know there was anything but the one that lets you carry on an expired HCP with the letter.

Sounds like you got it covered, and looks like I stand corrected, thanks.

I'm not saying they didn't make a mistake, that's just how they handled it. I checked the application and it does say "duplicate." So, I'm thinking you are correct. We should have kept the old one and waited on the new one. The crazy thing is we went on separate days to the same place and they made the same mistake. I'm thinking some training is in order.

I received the renewal letter/form about 3 months before expiration, a month or so ago.

Sent in the renewal app, first class mail, and got the "you can carry with this letter" reply in about a week, and the renewed permit one or two weeks afterward, a good 2 months before the old license expired. Not too shabby for government work.

The Hart Ln. Station let me keep my hcp and duplicate. No need for me to carry a receipt around.

Update time..... Its the end of July and I still have not received my renewed HCP. Applied for renewal at beginning of May. Does TN DOS have to process renewals in 90 days just like new applications. I did recently receive a renew application in the mail from TN DOS. Guess I should make a phone call?
