New purchase question

I found a revolver in a pawn shop (don't say it) today and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it has a good price on it? It is an all stainless Smith & Wesson 357 Mag, model 66-3, it has the original box (not in real good shape), original paperwork including warranty card and paper the gun was originall wrapped in. It also has the wood grips and looks new, it has been shot but I would say not very much. Had a sticker on it of 369.95. What say the masses? Yea or Nay?

What barrel length?

3" are kinda rare...the others aren't so much (2.5", 4", 6"). Sounds about right to me, unless it's a 3" gun, in which case it's worth at least double that.

The fact that its not a total ripoff surprises me...last pawn shop I went to wanted more then that for a Hi Point .40

Well I got it for 350.00 +Tax &tics. Just found a hang tag in the box marked "cotton bowl" 1/1/89 $320.00 Think that was the original FFL?

Just figured out the box is not the original (sn's don't match.) What does "marcas registradas" mean?

Last one I priced in a gun store was over 450.00 so I felt I did do good, thanks.

How do I tell the difference?

Also I gave her a good cleaning last night, (not much to clean actually), and when I took the grips off I could tell it had never been cleaned (little stickers on the gun under the grip were still intact).

All in all I think I did good and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I agree I would have made that purchase myself and I'm not a big wheel gun guy. I think you did good. I may have to start riding down to Athens and visit your pawn shops. Around here they are close to, and at times more than retail on gun prices.

Actually got that one at Sweetwater Pawn shop in Sweetwater. He bought a lot of guns from a PD dept I think, all kinds of hand guns and rifles. The only one I wanted was this one.

This is a pic of a set of Magnums I had, they cover most of the metal on the grip. I don’t have a pic of service grips but they are smaller and you can see the frame all around the grip.

That's the grips I have. I should have known what you meant by "service" grips. Thanks for the clarification.
