Left Attacks Crickett as "Child Porn" etc

MSNBC's O'Donnell, with vid:

“You live in the country where 5-year-olds are not allowed to play Little League baseball, because we are afraid of them getting hit by fastballs, thrown by 10-year-olds,” O’Donnell said. “Because we think fast-pitch baseball is too dangerous for 5-year-olds, Little League allows them to play only tee ball. You know, for safety. You live in the country where Bill and Steve McNeal legally sell guns for 5-year-olds, without even worrying about safety. If you’re concerned with child safety, you don’t give children guns. You don’t give 5-year-olds the keys to the car. There’s a whole lot of stuff you don’t let 5-year-olds do if you are concerned about child safety. But America’s merchants of gun death are not concerned about child safety, or adult safety or anything other than getting rich, and so tonight, you live in a country where Bill McNeal and Steve McNeal make and sell guns for little kids. Because they can. And because obviously there is nothing, nothing Bill McNeal and Steve McNeal won’t do for money.”

etc.

Sure enough, Crickett's site has been down for a couple days now (http://crickett.com). I guess they're unfortunately busy scrubbing it or whatever (knuckling under). What a frigging country we've become.

Wow. Yet another childs grave used as a soap box. Really have no use whatsoever for a cricket but I think maybe I'll pick one up anyway. I do love they idea of causing some dumbass a lot of heartache over nothing.

One of the things I won't do to get rich is put myself on the internet just so that I can insult people I don't know at all because doing so fits into my hatred of guns.

Child porn my ass...I'll bet this guy even has armed security and I'll bet they carry something more potent than a Cricket.

My prays for the family, the lose of a child is unimaginable.

I think we should let the 5 year olds play baseball too. I guess I'm just evil.

Probably sent from some random person's driveway while on delivery. Enjoy your pizza. :-P

My child's pink Crickett has never even been seen by a minor without me there. She doesn't know where it or any other weapon is and if she did figure out where to look there would be a combination to get past.
It's complete lunacy that a mother lets a child sit in the front seat of a car with no seat belt and she is charged and held responsible if something terrible happens. When a gun is involved it's on the manufacturer or store or even gun owners. When are we going to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH? What will it take to hold the media responsible for the misinformation and lies?

Simple story of parental negligence. It is no different than if they had left the gate to the pool open and the child had drowned.

As for O'Donnell, fuck that guy.

I think I'm going to go buy a Cricket then find a family who would like to give it to their child.

I will split the cost with ya, let me know.

Oddly enough i gave my oldest grandson a rifle when he turned 5.  He has not shot his little brother or anyone else yet.  I guess he has not applied himself well enough.   But he is a decent little rifleman, now 10  who has long understood gun safety and the potential for damage they can cause if misused.

Of course he does not have unfettered access to it.  But he, as well as his little brother pay little attention to any gun here in the house.  No more than they do with my hammers or saws or other tools.

They better still be around in a couple years when I my daughter is old enough (3.5/4yo) to go with me to pick one out for her.

Whats stopping you from picking one up now and keeping it for her until she gets old enough.

My little girl is 7 months old today,  I bought her a M&P 15-22 when she was still around a month old just because I wasn't sure if they would still be as cheap and available when she gets older.  Shell get to learn on that and my Ithica .22 that I learned how to shoot with

I want her to help pick it out. She almost had one waiting on her to be born, but then I decided I wanted her to go with me to get "her" first gun.

Except children are far more likely to drown in a swimming pool (1.2 per 100K) than be killed by an accidental shooting (0.2 per 100k) based on the latest mortality data from the CDC.

I bought one at Walmart years ago for my son when he was about 5.  They are VERY safe, single shot, bolt action rifles with a removable bolt and a key that locks the action.  This was complete parental negligence.  There were many opportunities to store that rifle safely.  I used to allow my son to carry it around on the property when we were going out shooting.  I just kept the bolt in my pocket.  He was carrying a stick that looked like a rifle without that bolt.

Okay guys...how do we identify "who" to give this to?

Is just one enough?

Given the current situation, what do we do about ammo?

I want to see this rifle (or several rifles) go to children who's parents truly don't have the extra funds to do this on their own...any suggestions?
