It seems you made most of the good points. I was once the type who did not want a plastic handgun nor a Glock. I finally came around and picked up a G23 and after having it for a little while I then got a G27 and have been happy with them.

Got to be happy with your guns!:D

I have had my Glock 19 since 1993. No finger grooves, no accessory rail, but I will never get rid of it. I have a Sig 26 and love it as well. If price isn't a concern then get a Sig. If you are on a limited budget then get a Glock.

Remember, just because it's less expensive does NOT mean that it's cheap.

I have a G19 and a G26, even though the G26 is a subcompact for me it seems to be an incredible shooter. Must be the spring cause it shoots better then the G19.

The reason I got a Glock was because you can't go into a gun store and not kick a Glock magazine. I suppose the last gun part left on the face of the planet will be a Glock part.

My two have been 100% reliable shooting whatever I have in them.

Sidenote: This guy on shark week is hand feeding a tiger shark.

I carry the G26 cause I'm to small for even the G19 and I'd probably pick it over the G19 anyway cause it shoots with much less hop.

I say get a 92FS. Less chance you'll shoot yourself in the leg trying to draw.

Why would you buy a Glock when the Gun God's invented the XD? :puke:

Amen to that.

And then on the next day, they realized the XD was just coming up a little short, so they created XDM.

If you not sure you should go rent some. I have a G19 I love and a bunch of SIG's I love also. Don't buy on a whim.

If you are just looking for a range gun look at the surplus Sig P6/225. They

are around 325.00 OTD and are excellent shooters.

And why would you buy an XD or a Glock when the gun gods really wanted you to own a USP! :D

Because HK thinks we suck, and they hate us...

I carried "(On Duty) a cocked and locked Colt 45 for years. Could Not even think of a "Plastic" gun...Well, Our department started issueing Glocks, I went to the Glock Armourers School , WEll, Duhhh, my thoughts after the School was "why the heck didn't someone think of this sooner!"

I switched to Glock and have never looked back. The parts if you ever need one are interchangable with NO fitting required. To add something is a breeze, they just plain W.O.R.K. no matter what I do to it.

The Sigs and Berettas and Colts and SW and HKs are all good weapons

To each his own, mine's (at least one of them) will aways be a Glock.

:D

I've called HK a few times and have always had good service. I remember when my P7 manual got soaked because i left my car windows down. I called HK up, was honest with them about what happened, and the nice lady 2 day shipped(yes!) me a brand new manual.

Same thing when a guy had me replace the extractor on his USP. Called HK up, explained to the guy that i needed and extractor, gave my credit card info for a new one, and he sent it my way. Pretty nice especially since HK USA has to wait on Germany to send stuff.

We have the models you are looking at, as well as the others mentioned in this thread, in our rental case. Why don't you come in and see which one does what you want and then purchase one based on that?

Before you buy, look at the M&P 9L or Pro......

I have the same dilemma. I have a Baretta 92FS that I realy like but want something to carry and range shoot. Currently looking at the Glock 19! Everyone I have talked to says they are indistructable and will last forever. It's definately lighter and easy to maintain, but butt ugly.

But it works. Try it before you buy it. Pretty much any range that has rental guns is going to have a Glock for rent.

Norm, all I can tell you is that you'll probably shoot yourself. "Glock, shooting it's owners since 1986"

Nice joke, BUT, there has never been a handgun (or rifle) for that matter that has EVER shot it's owner.....

hahahah that is true, so it should say "Glock...shooting more owners than any other pistol, since 1986"

better?

:D:D:D

you SO can't deny that more law enforcement folks and more folks period (but more leo's) shoot themselves with these pistols..either in cleaning them or because they put their finger on the trigger when they shouldn't.

very rarely do you find that with a weapon that has more than just a safety on the trigger...where it can go off drawing the pistol, holstering the pistol, aiming the pistol, or just waving the thing around. heck, that sucker is a GREAT weapon..it never fails to fire. it even shoots when you subconsciously want to get out of work that day. THINK about touching the trigger...it'll go boom! LOL

in all seriousness..its an ok weapon, but if you don't practice your manual of arms for that pistol, you're gonna shoot yourself with it. No shame on LEO's..they either don't have the funding or the time to practice their marksmanship and manual of arms like they should, so you see them get shot.

I remember an article where one female cop was SLEEPING with the pistol under her pillow...she shot herself while she was sleeping. I cant remember but I think she was a fatality.

When I picked up my 23 there was a retired LEO working in the store at that time, and he gave me his golden rule of glock saftey "unless your on target, keep your booger hook off the bang switch." I later found out that he had adopted this philosophy after he almost shot himself in the foot while reholstering.

I traded my glocks for S&W M&P. I found the M&P shoots as good but feels better in my hand and points better than a glock. Both Glock and the M&P are fine weapons but I wouldn't go back to a Glock I really love the M&P.
