Value of a Mod 1928 Thompson?

Recommended Posts

This is an Auto-Ordnance Thompson, built in or around 1975.  It's full-auto and comes with 3 stick mags and one drum.  Any one here have any idea of current market value?

Thanks, I gave that a look....nothing in there re the Auto-Ordnance product, just the Colt.  Here's some further data:

Removable butt-stock, compensator, fires from open bolt.

Reason I'm asking this is I have a friend who owns this and is looking to sell, but wanted to know what it was worth.

You've got someone who actually has a transferable Thompson who doesn't know it's value?

They've been going for $15-18K in great condition.  That's assuming that all the paperwork is there and the weapon is actually legal to transfer.

That one is a WWII original.  One of the Auto Ordnance clones from the '70s and '80s usually doesn't bring quite that much.  Many times, those guns are referred to as 'West Hurley Thompsons' to distinguish them from guns made earlier.

Here is the chart you want:

So, if it's in normal condition, $15,000 to sell quickly, $16,000 to sell someday, and $17,000 to let folks know you have it.
