Using online nfa trust creation and taxes

Recommended Posts

There are a couple of law firms adverstising online nfa trust services now days. Just google nfa trust and these two pop up (Nfafirearmstrust.com and guntrust.com). The first one appears to be the kim firm out of GA.

Any opinions about either of these? Cost is my primary consideration since most quotes i have received have been $650+.

Also does the state of tn require yearly fees to be paid on a nfa trust?

I know Chip Cain here on the forum does trusts as do I for much cheaper than that.  There is no requirement for a trust to be registered with the state or to pay any yearly fees.  It's a one time fee to the attorney.  If you'd like to call me with questions, I'd be happy to talk to you about the trusts.

Use Mr Cain. I did and it was very much worth it. He knows the ins and outs and his work is tip notch.

Edit: Mr Wells, I by no means meant to make it seem that your services were any less. Good to know we have some good attorneys with knowledge on this board.

+1 for Chip Cain. Standup guy. When I'm ready to take the NFA plunge he'll be doing my trust.

bonus: He's a TGO Authorized Vendor that helps keep this place going.

Patrick Stegall is a TGO Benefactor and an attorney. He does NFA trusts too and he's in Memphis, so closer to you than Chip in Nashville.

I knew there was another guy closer to Memphis, I just couldn't remember his name.  No offense taken, Chip has been doing this type of trust longer than I have, so I'm sure he has more experience than I do at this point.  I sent an email to the mods about becoming a benefactor, but haven't heard anything back.

John, anyone can become a Benefactor by clicking the "TGO Store" link at the top of the page and selecting a 6 month or 1 year membership. It comes with some nice perks in addition to the Benefactor label under your avatar. An Admin (or possibly sitegod TGODavid himself) would need to be involved to add you as an "Authorized Vendor".
