Mosin nagant bolt extractor

Hey all is the extractor on my mosin bolt supposed to have this much of a gap between it and the bolt head?<br />

Take an empty case and see how it fits.

I'll take a look at mine when I get home and tell you. If you're in a rush though, load up a round and open the bolt. Making sure of course to use proper muzzle control and keeping your booger picker off the bang switch.

Make sure you've reassembled the bolt correctly and i'd check the chamber real well. Just look where the scratch is and try to identify what it's dragging on.

<br />Yeah. I have been rubbing my finger on the inside of the chamber for a burr or anything and haven't found anything yet and if I can't fid anything, I will be going to Clarksville soon and will probably drop it off at a gun smith Edited April 29, 2013 by luke9511

Is the bottom of the brass supposed to sit flush in the bolt head? If so it don't on mine and if so it looks like the extractor is keeping it from sitting flush, so I'm going to take a guess and say I probably need a new bolt head if the above is true about it sitting flush
