Late to the Reloading Game but need to start

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Yes, I've picked a great time to do get into it, but going thru my gear closet, I found all the brass (9mm, 5.56, .45) that I've shot over the past couple of years. Quite a bit of 9mm and 5.56..

I have yet to find a good source on presses that has them in stock and I already know of the shortage of reloading media, so my other alternative would be to find someone that would be willing to reload them for a price..

Any insight would be appreciated..

you should be able to find the gear with a bit of legwork.  Some dies are hard to find (223, 9mm come to mind) and a press could take some time to locate but within a month you should be able to locate the press and dies and set up a table.   As you go, try to find some primers and powder and all, its out there if you keep your eyes open.

As of right now there is 1 $65 cheapo press on lee's site in the closeouts, for example.  It may not be the top model but it will make ammo for years to come if you do not abuse it.   Look in their closeouts/ refurbished equipment sections often for deals.....

The federal government doesn't allow for that without a license to manufacture ammo.   Even if they did, most folks don't want the liability of reloading for someone else.
